Thanks friend. I guess it was time to make an account after all, haha. I live in Nice so am quite biased! Depends how much moving around you want to do but: Finale is obviously the go to for foreign bikers, a ton of companies operating shuttles straight from downtown, so the non-bikers can hang out near the beach, you guys can pedal to the uplift van which usually includes a guide (~50$ per person for the day). Couldn't find a pic but it is 16 mm flex tube put inside 2 pc of regular pipe insulation. Put it around the rim and then cut it mabe 30 mm short. Then you put some elastic rope inside, stretch it a bit and tie it up to a circle. The tension in the rope combined with the 30 mm gap you left will make sure it doesn't rattle around in there when the tire is pumped up (the foam will compress due to the air pressure). $5-6 per insert and lasts more than a season for me. Increase pressure until it does not move much, slow the rebound to make it move less, and increase the low speed compression to make sure it does not move more. Now forget about it for about five years and you have successfully setup a DJ fork.

Definitely not. A lot of people I know do the opposite of that and close the rebound knob entirely. Think of the suspension fork on your new dirt jumper as a $700 rigid fork with expensive inside bits that sort of move a little when you overshoot a jump to flat and would have otherwise broken your wrists.
