Osteoarthritis is the biggie. I blew my ACL in slalom back in ye olden days. They gave me a new one. Ripped my meniscus in between the ACL and surgery & if I could do it again, I'd have babied my knee to not tear that cartlidge. ACL replacement is in there still, but the missing meniscus is misery. Blew my mind when Brendog raced without one. Even with a knee brace, your bones slip, twist and slam around with no ACL in DH. And he was improving his position overall & set to have a BIG season until that...

Couple more pieces of info on this: -It was a group of gravel cyclists, riding about 5 miles north of populated areas. About 4 miles from very popular MTB trails. -This is the second cougar attack on a gravel cyclist in 6 years in the immediate area. The other attack was 4 miles away. That first attack, in 2018, was on group of 2 people and resulted in a death.

from their site: And honestly, I would have liked a water bottle when in the bike park on more than one occasion.... I don't want it at the expense of performance, but if the room exists wtf not.

Magic Mary is better on loose / soft trails, Tacky Chan is better on harder / loose over hard. I run the TC as a front in the spring/summer and a MM in the fall/winter. The TC rolls a touch faster and the side knobs are more supportive. Sounds like TC front and rear would work well for you.

I have the opposite take. I've found that wider rims just destroy side knobs - and Maxxis seem to get undercut faster than most. I ran 3CTerra and 3CGrip DHR, DHF and Assegai on 32mm rims. Happier now on rims in the 27-30mm range. OP, WT is just marketing blah blah blah to be ignored. LOTS of fast riders run...

Intense would seem like the easy answer. But why would you and the brand go radio silent for 2 straight months while you're rolling the frame out of production. You'd want it known Gwin is sticking with his design from day 0. So let's eliminate Intense.

Another option here, and they have an extensive axle-size database: https://robertaxleproject.com/ And yes, having one thread standard is long past due IMO

Bikes are really freaking good these days. It is not going to be a revelation each time a brand launches or updates a bike. The tagline Vital put to it was: "Subtle but significant changes keep the all-mountain ripper alive and well." Meaning it is an update, not a whole new bike or platform. Were you hoping for 200mm travel, 90 degree STA, 45 degree HA, and 23 pounds? For the last decade it seems that every bike is lower, longer, and slacker. That only works to a point. Bikes have settled into pretty great categories. At this point the...

I hope you're right. But again, 55mm chainlines aren't ideal on 148, and very few consumers even know what a chainline is or how to optimize it. Brand managers are now incentivized to go to 157 in order to have better OEM SRAM Transmission shifting on regular bikes. E-bikes are mostly fine on 55 and boost 148 since they'll spend...

At this point we're likely going to have to accept Super Boost. All new SRAM Transmission chainlines are 55mm, which are suboptimal with boost spacing if you climb steep hills. My crystal ball says in 6 years Boost 148 will be the weird orphan. Luckily adapter end caps should work for Boost to Super B****. Not sure if they'd need...
