6/5/2017 8:46pm Reference the comment to the Miriam Nicole picture, complaints when its too easy, complaints when its too hard. Its Fort William, its never going to be easy. If you think about it, the more riders going downthe track the more difficult it would be for the next man, so surely last man down gets the hardest track.... Greg Minaar never complained once. And Mr Gwin was moaning before he had even ridden it. Did we not do enough work to prepare the track in the first place...? Time to TTFU I think..........

Loic doesn't care about his wheel size because he doesn't need to. That Ohlins kit looks like it's working on a different level than the Fox stuff. His bike is noticeably more calm and stable, but still super responsive when he needs it. I guess I see that as a bigger advantage than wheel size.

If TRP isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of brakes, you’re forgiven. Better known as Tektro, these brakes were historically sold on very low-end bikes, with nothing but a couple of rides and a one-way ticket to the parts bin to look forward to. No wonder that it took the world by surprise when in 2016 Aaron Gwin announced that he’d be asking TRP to supply him with brakes for his new World Cup downhill racing team, the YT Mob. Of course, Gwin wouldn’t consider such a move if he didn’t think he could win...

I still can't get over how the underlying assumption that big wheels are always faster is the case. I still stand by the idea that it depends on the track, the rider, the conditions, other attributes of the bike etc.

Holy crap is right. It's like he's floating over it and the footage has been sped up. Crazy how that big grassy right turn at 1:25 has gotten totally destroyed since Claudio's run.

Part of the reason I prefer vital for race coverage is because each article title isn't a paragraph long, unlike that other website.

SO sick is right. Thought about it more, I am starting to believe the wheel size thing is less of a big deal than we think in terms of "changing the sport". Worth noting, Brycleland had his big season mostly aboard 26" wheels (right?) when nearly every other team was on 27.5" wheels. My point is, overall, I think the wheels will be more of a wash in terms of outright advantage than most think. What I do think will happen is a reshuffling of whos near the top as there may be certain riders who find themselves more comfortable...
