Quite possibly the most expensive bike to come with deore brakes in history. Utterly ridiculous, especially when the cannondale Jekyll that dropped yesterday had factory suspension and XO1/GX drivetrain with code RSCs for a cheaper price.

Excellent content in my hometown. Saw a lot of Hawes there, but no SoMo? Good stuff and good riding. Loving my Titan but that Phantom is making my pants move.

The rear tire has a hard start to life. It was originally used to get a few bikes through Vital's Test Sessions in Tucson, Arizona, which is notoriously rough on tires.

i don’t wanna sound like a butthole... but... I don’t find drops of a “few feet” to be considered black or DB. Unless it’s super steep, tight, dropping into switch or D all the above at the same time. I’ve hit plenty man made doubles and tables with it. But it’s a trail bike. Not an all mountain bike. And I can’t justify an X2 or coil (even 11-6) on 135mm of rear. Flat flowy trails are sick though.

ooorrrr.. santa cruz could just refresh the LT with a seat angle that isnt a lawn chair and a 65 HA. I loved my hightower in the stock XO1 config riding blue and green trails. i tried to burly it up for black trails (monarch plus, tires, cush core, 35 stem, tall bars) but it just doesnt work...

this is why i love vital. responding to readers and giving quality feedback. +10283912074 points. this bike seems to be as close as ever to the cliche "do everything, one quiver" bike. with moto and bmx roots i love berms and jump trails. with an X2 would this 140mm rear end still handle bike park jump lines?
