I hit the steeps in Santa Cruz today with the shaven brakes and I’m pretty blown away with how powerful they are. It feels like a >50% increase in power from xt with MTX pads. I’m using the stock organic maven pads and it’s by far the strongest brake I have ever used. I had more control than I’ve ever had on the steepest trails. @TEAMROBOT @WalrusRider the system in the Ohlins fork is a fixed adapter attached to the damper and provides a reduced lower leg air spring volume on the right side of the fork. It could be used in both an air and coil version of their fork. The Sub Chamber found in our NINE ONE is integrated into the spring system and, as mentioned, can be toggled on and off externally by the rider via a switch on the top of the fork leg.

Just looked at the graphic on the Diaz site, and while it took me a minute to figure out exactly what I was looking at, dang that's smart. The lower chamber ramp in a Zeb is a real bummer, and I think (if it works as advertised), the Diaz Lower Runt looks like a great idea to fix it. Bravo.

I disagree. I don't think after months and months of testing we would have uncovered more about the bikes that would offset the extra time/cost we'd have put in. To be clear, this was not a scientific test. Also, I'm not sure what kinda budget you think we got over here but it does not include months of testing in a bike park. The goal was to put down a timed run on a familiar track after we had each bike setup and feeling comfortable to see how times compared against how we felt on the bikes. And to help...

You can get PTFE backup rings in almost identical dimensions which work OK - sometimes the contact area looks a bit small but so does a lot of spring seats out there. I normally just hoard sprindex washers but the PTFE rings have worked fine when I tried them

It's not super intricate, it doesn't have a preloadable topcap (uses a standard air topcap), rather it relies on correctly sized springs. It's in a set of RS Revelations, the length of the stanchions meant that the usual 300-305mm Z1, MRP, Selva springs were too long so I needed to shorten them. Made the plunger shaft out of a piece of titanium round bar I had laying around. Used a B1 seal head as the plunger guide. I machined a new ID journal and modified a DU eyelet bushing for the plunger shaft to run on. Lower spring guide/perch is...
