1/14/2024 10:22am Grip2’s biggest flaw is that the HSC adjustment does nothing. Watch the Vorsprung video in the 38 if you don’t believe me. However you might want open up on the LSR because on the Grip2 too much will cause harshness as it acts as a choke/orifice on the mid valve the more you add.

1/14/2024 10:19am Oh one hand, props to Canyon for abandoning headset routing. Agreed the OE plastic bits are a mystery but once upgraded to FSA I don't see an issue. Outside of it being a non standard size, it seems to me a larger top bearing can only be a "better" thing? A convo for another thread....

1/14/2024 10:17am The kind of rider that runs a stock coil probably rides a deflated/overinflated shock half of the time and will probably be better off not bying this product. A lot of people do not even possess a shock pump, but that's a whole different discussion. The coil issue is definitely present, I have been using sprindex. Maybe we need to establish a pool of springs that we share between our friends, so we can exchange or buy and sell springs as needed since we don't need all of the springs all of the time. There will always be tinkerers and...

I agree. Air and coil both have their respective use cases. It’s all about preference and we’re all different. Also, like Mr. Robot said, the time and effort to setup coil shocks (properly) turns some people off. Externally adjustable HBO on a coil shock is extremely valuable. For what it’s worth, I’ve personally seen a friend ride the previous generation SD coil shock (nomad v4) for over a year without any service. Finally handed over to the shop after hundreds of miles of riding. Sure the oil was a black, but the internals were still in good shape (I asked...

1/14/2024 9:46am Great point. I think the million dollar question for potential coil shock users is whether they have the patience to put up with trying 3+ coils before settling. It's taken me 3+ coils on every bike I've ever had with a coil shock, and I think most riders just ride the coil their bike shows up with. Running the wrong spring rate is always bad, and air shocks make experimenting a lot easier and cheaper.

1/14/2024 9:45am so with all these newer air shocks imitating the spring curve of a coil shock, I ask myself if the gains in adjustability and weigh savings are worth the increase in technical complexity. Especially when some of the newer coil shocks have a hydraulic bottom out. In addition, the theoretical issues with temperature (both outer and inner) und outer air pressure sensitivity (elevation) still exist in air shocks.

1/12/2024 9:05pm Looks like Neko and team are in Spain. He was traveling to meet his new rider which I don’t think is Dan Roberts. Angel is from Spain. Coincidence?

1/12/2024 9:05pm Angels been posting old pics from Commencal too. A trail bike from another manufacturer would make sense if he will be riding Frameworks for dh. In some of Nekos instagram he had been riding a Jekyll recently. Is he trying to take over from Jesse as best team rumours thread pro-troll?

1/12/2024 9:02pm The new Altitude, pretty stoked for it. In the PB article it says it's Remi's. If it is I'm interested in why that factory fork doesn't have Kashima. Sure it could be a performance elite with factory stickers, but maybe not...
