Hot take: we need less elites in finals (for men). I'd vote for 20 Elite Men, 15 (and eventually 20) Elite Women in Finals. Maybe not right this moment, but eventually. The current package is already a long watch, and they still don't capture entire runs of every rider. I think there is lot of potential with less racers to hone in on elevating each racers notoriety; potential to adjust the schedule to minimize track degradation and allow for safer speed increases throughout a weekend; and hopefully more money paid across the entire field. These changes feel very dependent on...

Woof! Not to be that guy as I mean no disrespect but cite your source on that one. And obviously the answer for the industry as a whole is nope.

It frees up the riders to move to a new team, but it doesn’t get rid of the restriction on teams adding new riders. The teams still need to petition the UCI. I am sure they would be open to it in this kind of situation, but there are other issues at play as well. You’ve got to negotiate a contract, sponsor deals are still in place for most of them and may not align with other teams, mechanic and pit space, marketing, travel arrangements, team rosters for future rounds are likely submitted in advance, and most teams operate right...

Or, Norco. Team being managed by a legend that was the king of tinkering with frame adjustments until the day he retired. A team that has a F1 engineer. From and outsider perspective. I could see Norco being a good fit, logistically. - Team that supports outside of the box thinking for bike set up, and the money to do so. - Team that has $$ backing to support riders traveling abroad for long stints. -When Greg started managing Norco, he brought Cathy back in to help manage all the logistics and take care of the riders. Now, lets toss...

I would think the rate of progression in ebike motors has got to be a product manager nightmare.. You start a new bike project with the latest, greatest, bestest motor on the market.. Half way through the development process, someone comes out with something new that makes the system you chose seem like old news... So, your new bike is viewed as off the back on the day it launches... I'll take jobs I'm glad I don't have for $100 please..

I'm British 🤣🤣🤣 Here's my logic - USDH is growing, then there's Canada too, plus of course other series seem to be growing (at least from what I can see from media). So if there's a truck going for a song as part of a fire sale, it makes sense - and nothing to prevent them flipping it a year down the line for more than they paid or even the same amount, meaning thry had a year's worth of pit truck & impressiv looking race presence FOC at worst.

Found this interesting and wanted to share. From Shimano's H2 release. Hopefully I'll find time to unpack Shimano, Canyon and Giant's releases later. Initial read through was very similar to Fox, though Fox is doing better (I think) on a quarterly basis. None of these businesses strike me as likely contenders to go out of business, though canyon posting a negative EBITDA number is never good.

Any info on where Danny Hart is off to next season? He must have a stack of UCI points and some teams in need of points could do with them? His performance this season warrants a bigger team ride. Norco?

if "several" means "two, but realistically 1.5 b/c one of the two may not even get DH approved."

Progressive springs are definitely overkill on modern enduro bikes. I increased progression a bunch on my Reign with a Cascade link, and I experienced the same kind of harshness you guys did on the 279. A straight-rate spring remedied the problem, and has the rear end working better than I ever imagined it would.

Bought a Tracer 279 to replace my 2021 Enduro (same as one in test). Was worried as the Enduro was so damn good. But so far after 25 rides: I think it's better (for me) in almost every respect. I am running a 180mm Fox factory 38 on the front, and only left the bike in the HI mode setting, but the 550 coil is spot on for my weight (92kg) it shipped with (bike is an XL) and do not feel the wall of compression. In riding everything in Cape Town first involves a proper pedal up, and the...

Id be really interested to have you guys try this bike with a stock Fox coil vs the Sprindex. It has a 20% progression built in to each model, and while they (and others) claim that progressive springs only get firmer at the end of the travel, I and some of my customers have not found this to be the case. It seems that progressive coils can definitely affect the midstroke, especially on bikes that already have significant ramp like the Intense (you guys are using the term falling rate). I was blown away trying Cane Creek coils back-to-back on...

TBH the second run in skiing in slalom and giant slalom also covers only 30 skiers. But that's the second run while the first run gives a chance to all skiers. And usually only the first 40 to 50 skiers from the first run are televised live and they go from first to last, not the other way around. But skiing runs are mostly shorter than MTB DH runs, so there's a difference too. Might the 30 only limitation be there to make gaps between riders longer, so each run can be shown in its entirety or as near as?
