2/18/2026 11:49pm Thanks! As to "async" racing, 100% that is a big part of it. I actually considered a very similar approach as V41 but I'm super allergic to building anything that leans into Strava's infrastructure based on their track record. They've shown very little good faith when it comes to playing nice with apps that leverage their API. Things are moving along here. Hoping I have something out there in ~4 weeks Best Jeff

2/10/2026 11:39am I can speak to clothing as I run a tiny MTB apparel brand, Abit Gear. The short story is that for USA brands, tariffs are making it a royal PITA and covid saw a glut of inventory that isn't yet cleared. Sure, margins are good on paper, but you have a SKU problem with apparel do to size and color variants, you have to carry a lot of aged inventory, and fight discounting from competitors more than with hard goods. For technical apparel, China is, by far, the best quality. Most of the technical apparel factories are in China. They...

2/4/2026 12:39pm 4 French DH riders (even not initially planned this way) and a French team manager with background in US motor racing, but living in the Alps. Tell us a bit more about building this team please. (Be carefull, some Vital members may think this team looks too French 🤣)

1/31/2026 5:16am Hey, I live in Chatel year round and have been here since 2012. If all you want to ride is bikepark then stick to your plan but definitely add Morgins to the list. You can access Morgins from Mossette lift and then get back by riding into Chatel village and taking a bus back to the Chatel bikepark. If you're interested in riding the lesser known but amazing singletrack around the PDS let me know and I'll show you around on my days off. I've also built +30 trails in between Chatel and la chapelle, some of which was used...

1/18/2026 5:06am Things are moving. For the initial public release, we're going all-in on grassroots racing, the "Strava-like" activity tracking pirate ship will come later. From my point of view, grassroots racing is where the gap (and my passion) is, and it's where we can deliver something genuinely better from day one. The upside: Garmin integration ships with iOS/Android/web app launch. If we see the traction we're expecting, we can build all sorts of cool activity tracking stuff, but it just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to start with that. Happy to answer questions. Cheers

1/10/2026 5:36am Appreciate the kind words 🙏 that genuinely means a lot. We try. We keep trying. And yeah, when I say we, I really do mean me. Still just one bloke doing everything: product, riders, logistics, emails at stupid o’clock, the lot. No staff, no big safety net. Just belief and stubbornness. The industry doesn’t make it easy for small independents. The big dogs have deeper pockets and louder voices, but that was always kind of the point. Do cool shit, build something authentic, and if it ruffles a few feathers along the way, so be it. I’m proud that Viris...

1/3/2026 5:29am Just a short update to say: I tried L-sized Ion Arçon for a short ride few days ago. Confirmed the fit and they feel pretty great (I forget them as I am riding). So, again, the last Vital benchmark seems pretty honest/trustworthy to me. Hope it will help more people in the future.

12/21/2025 11:23am The end of EDR has been a topic for 2 (1?) years. On the positive side, I can’t imagine RB giving a helmet to a young rider like Simona Kuchyňková yesterday without checking first that EDR will last long enough (at least long enough in order to get something back from it).

12/19/2025 4:43am When I refer to "manpower" I am talking about our in-house capacity. We manufacture/assemble our posts in Taiwan in our own facilities with our own team of now 13 people. That means every single post is assembled by ourselves, not, as it is otherwise often the case, by a "partner"/factory/assembler who is contracted to do all the sourcing, manufacturing, assembly to get the product ready in the box to sell. We draw every single part, source the suppliers, have them made, get them to us and then put everything together in our own facilities with our own machines. No post...

12/17/2025 1:53am I get your points of view. May I say that the brakes you mentionned were unavailable (Maven, Intend) years ago or too expensive (for my wallet)? Sure it has changed for the last 3 years, and reducing Cura 4 lever throw has been in my mind for the last monthsas well. However, I cannot financially justify changing them now, and...

12/15/2025 5:36am "Average Joe" advise: Coming from SRAM G2 brakes to Cura 4 was a great update for my Canyon spectral years ago. After reading reviews/advises from other riders, I did change rotors and pads for Galfer in 2025: Wave rotors and red pads. They defintely feel better (to me). Cant give you any comparison with Shimano XT, sorry.

12/12/2025 3:03am Recently purchased Ion Arcon pads for enduro riding (thanks Vital for the benchmark video) but haven’t tested them so far (still brand new and waiting in the closet before landing near the christmas tree). Ion recommends me M size but I was near L size. Another French rider in the same situation told that he bought M and L sizes...
