Surprisingly enough you are supposed to read the manual to find out torque specs not just guess based on what type of head is on the fastener.

There are stems that have a 3 mm Allen for the handlebar and a 5 mm Allen for the steerer. There are still bikes that have a 5 mm Allen for the rear axle and a 6 mm for the front axle (though for that one I cannot fathom why we ditched QR through axles, so much so I had an UDH compatible Maxle made). It's not a problem jumping between torx and Allen, it's about jumping between different sizes primarily. I never know if the pad pin on sram brakes is 3 mm or 2,5 mm (it's 2,5 mm)...

I've never stripped the threads from a Magura master, but I just serviced some Magura brakes which were handed to me off the bike. Replaced the lever blades, cleaned and exercised the pistons, installed new pads, bled the system. Some might say it was the best feeling in the world... Unfortunately, after all that upon reinstalling it turns out the plastic threads in the lever clamp were already stripped so the master cylinder went in the trash. Yay! Gwin is a full part of the team. They approached shared sponsors and combined all budgets to make the finances work. Sounds like Gwin gets paid what he is used to, and Frameworks probably makes out with more budget and even more attention from sponsors and fans now that Gwinner is with them.

I understand the basics behind it. On the other hand, if you have a new brake with flat (or as designed) pistons, that grow bulges on the surface after you go through a few sets of pads, bulges that prevent the bleed block from being inserted unless filed down, those have to come from somewhere. I think my brakes were not the only ones I saw this on, but other than heat generated during use, I do not see a single reason for these on my brakes. It's not a special piston or something like that, the brakes were serviced...

Just going to share my own experience, batch of exactly 1, well sort of 2. I had a stock Mezzer Pro that was always pretty sublime but I had damaged the stanchion so just saved it for parts. Then I bought a new Mezzer Expert on sale to send to Avalanche for a hybrid kit. The Mezzer Avy Hybrid never tracked well or felt very good.
