10/21/2019 4:22pm I need to correct you on bit above: we can all agree that every team needs a Masters. As in Wyn Masters or Eddie Masters. Imagine if every team had a person like that, the world would be a better place. We all know that. It is an obvious thing. Masters of us puppets, keep pulling our striiiiiings!

10/19/2019 3:59pm Cheers mate. Mounts worked out a treat. I've machined top hat style mounts in the past, although they were easier as they didn't have o-rings in them.

10/19/2019 5:43am I'm not mad at the companies that offer lifetime warranties, but you have to have serious muscle to be able to do that. Not everyone does... I broke a front triangle taking a rock to the downtube (juuuust missed the protector) at about 20mph. Not at all a manu issue, but Transition sorted me out with a new front tri at about the cost it would have taken for me to get it repaired. Stoked on that kind of service.

10/19/2019 5:43am Lifetime warranty exists in bikes because it sells more units. But it is NOT real like a construction Performance Bond( which will pay to have a job completed if the contractor fails). There is no insurance policy that kicks in to give you cash back if the company or its suppliers collapse. And ask Turner what happens when your suppliers collapse. Dave had no quick or financially salvageable recourse to restore his investment or protect his clients. He had to take a massive hit and could have lost his company. If that happens to a company...consider your lifetime warranty as...

10/19/2019 5:43am I'm going to agree with bizutch. The warranty game is one huge problem in the mountain bike world. No other product do we expect to last a "lifetime", especially something mechanical. What I want more is products that are built to be fixed in a modular kind of way. Transition 100% honors this mentality. If I smash a chainstay, I can easily order one for a fair price. Roast a set of frame bearings? $80 and I'm back out there. We end up paying for warranty one way or another. Pricing is always passed down to the consumer. These aren't...

10/19/2019 2:31am I use Maxima fork oil. Half the price of the "bicycle specific" stuff and I doubt I would be able to ever tell the difference.

9/30/2019 2:30am My 5c On the back always set the rear to recommended SAG 30 to 40% depending a bit on your liking and suspension type... Never ever set your suspension outside recommended SAG. Bottoming out on the back is not really a problem if its not a super harsh bottom out (even if you ride fast a couple harsh ones is ok, try to suck more with your legs when landing). You can bottom out once or 50 times in a trail as long as its not super harsh ones all the time. If you feel harsh bottom outs then two...

9/25/2019 3:53am Eh, but NX is heavy, and the frames are built to last. Its an enduro bike, not a trail bike. I applaud Transition for making bikes that are servicable, reliable and (likely) to outlast the competition. I'm riding one of their alloy frames now. My bike is not light. I have no problems going uphill compared to a lighter enduro rig and am less scared when I throw it into a pile of rocks. YMMV.

Where it shines: Singletrack slayer. Very, very fast. Proficient at popping and pumping. Corners like a bobsled. Solid as a bank vault. Good climber, not as good as a virtual-pivot bike or a DW-link, but very competent. All-around party machine. Where it lacks: It is a bit heavy feeling on steeper climbs, but honestly not bad. It has a tendency to make you forget you are on a 120mm trail bike and not on a destroyer-of-worlds war-chariot and that can get you into trouble, but that's more of a plus in my opinion. *Update* I got a lot more saddle...
