I think the issue is that 5DEV seemed aware of the likelihood of failure and didn't do anything about it, putting Cam in danger by their own inaction. That's especially bad (unfairly or no) for a small company, where the rider has more pride in using their parts than a standard piece of kit. And once you learn that the company knew they had a bad batch of parts and did nothing, what faith can you have in them offering a warranty part? While Cam definitely came in spicy, I'd rather have liked to see 5DEV respond by talking about...

Yeah, it's a real shame Cam went straight to socials before the situation was resolved. Especially for someone in the trade. It's shit his crank snapped but he should have been handled in private first. Now he looks like a bit a of dick too. 5Dev were on the backfoot from the start and thats a shitty position to put someone in.

Yeah for sure. Definitely not correct to personally get emotional as a service agent. Clearly the crank should not snap in this application.., BUT warranty was offered so can‘t complain about that. Also the guy was not really cooperative or looking for a refund/warranty at all and just kept complaining. Don‘t want to know how he handled the phone call…

I was out shooting the Oceania Champs this weekend which Richie won by 4 seconds and 2nd was Sam Hill. Interesting setup by the looks of things, chainstay is attached to a link that goes through the frame.
