New Specialized Enduro will drop early summer of 2027. It will come specced with a genie zeb fork. It will have a Genie vivid air, that is mounted vertically directly in front of the seat tube. The rear layout will look similar to a 2012 era Demo 8, but with a link that comes around the seat tube to the top of the shock.

Anyone tried the Romy mid radial? I'm happy with the soft on the rear of my trail bike but am curious if mid is mid. Could also be good as a front tire on a downcountry bike.

A few bits I've heard from my LBS, and dealer reps at a recent demo event: New transition lineup coming next year. Will involve flip chips for wheelsize to consolidate frame SKUs. Smuggler going. Patrol/spire replacement coming first. Ibis IB7 next year, along with an avinox ebike. Specialized enduro replacement finally happening before bike park season next year, alongside a new levo. New Forbidden's as in the above posts. No megatower replacement. Nukeproof potentially bringing out some new pedal bikes, definitely an avinox gigawatt.

Thanks a good question, which is often asked... Well, we separate our brakes into three categories: Light duty (2 piston), Heavy duty (4 piston) and Extreme duty (4 piston). The difference between Heavy and Extreme are mostly heat capacity and wear limit. That's why GUSTAV uses thick pads, thick rotors (2.5 mm), which both give a longer duration until you have to buy new ones AND the massive caliper - together with the thick rotor - offer an immense heat resistance. Hey itsky, thanks for your questions! We have to separate this topic into full-bleeding (e. g. after installing new caliper, hose or master) or just quick-bleeding in order to get the air bubbles out. For quick bleeding, I would say (of course, I'm Magura, but trust me, I'm also an engineer 😉) that we have the easiest and quickest quick-bleed you can imagine. blue is mid which they say is just a renamed speedgrip. the romy was the first radial to get the mid compound, and it offers mid in the bias ply / diagonal casings also. I saw in the pic that the eddy current is flipped around backwards relative to the other tires. whoops

Slight edge to a Nic for rolling speed. Could put it on the rear? I personally like the Diagonal / Radial mixed setup. Romy is much more grippy. For a bike like the optic, having romy on both wheels would fit the bikes capability well.

First put radial Alberts FnR on my Jeffsy previously. I sipped the kool aid and can't go back. So good. Now running the new Romy Radial front and rear on my Pivot in mid trail casing. Still good. The harder part has been nailing down specifically who needs this tire, and why. For me, I want to run high pressures cuz I'm a big guy who takes bad lines (blame the BMX background). I've taken all the advice here and raised the pressure a few pounds from what I ran on my Assegei and DHR. I took the bike out last night with 30 in the front, and 32 in the rear. It absolutely ripped. It felt like less rolling resistance while also MORE grip. The grip-off-jump issue was lessened but not eliminated. I'll have to experiment with other casings, or compounds / tires, as others have suggested in the comments. Thanks all, for setting me on the best path.

Closing thoughts on the new maxx Terra v2. Dh season is over for me now, and I’ve been riding the DHR2 since it opened. FWIW, this is on a DH bike at race pace for the season. Just about 160 miles and just under 100k feet of descending. Still has tons of breaking grip, can’t tell the difference in nor-cal dirt from maxx grip, but well over 2x the life, if not more. I have run two trail casing mid rears and one gravity casing soft rear. This latest trail casing mid rear is definitely wearing the fastest. The gravity casing showed some feathering of the side knobs at around 25 miles but no tears like the latest one. The first trail mid casing showed feathering around 50 miles and started tearing knobs around 80 miles and was done just past 100. These were ordered in May, July, and now August. If I was able to get acceptable (not asking for Conti level wear, just like 400-500 miles) wear rates out of them...

I think you and I have already had this exact same conversation, but okay let's review my points again: 1. Lab tests ≠ absolute truth. Not all tests are created equal. People in these forums have repeatedly made the claim that radial tires roll slower than bias ply tires, but the tests they've shared to back up these claims ( example from Schwalbe's lab here) were performed on steel drums in a laboratory. Any questions about the DHX or updated DH casing let me know, both were my projects. In general the DHX does everything our current dry tires do, but has more capability for high load high speed conditions. I designed it to excel in the bike park oriented World Cup tracks but still not give up performance in soft or natural sections compared to current dry tires. Idk whats going on in this forum lately. Amaury: I'm using radials. Schwalbe: our riders are all using radials. Us: no one's using radials. My personal experience, riding them in every condition imaginable, including snow: the biggest improvement in mountain bike technology since we figured out 64 degree HTA could apply to non DH bikes.
