At 1,100 or 1,300 watts continuous power doesn't that mean none of these ebikes are considered Class 1?

Was discussed in this thread a page or two back and tire thread numerous times. Release looking like next week or the following. Dark web saying only Butcher and Eliminator for this initial release (unfortunately). Likely won't see them this year on the Cannibal and Hillbilly since Specialized Factory Racing gets 1 year exclusive to tire tech, before public.

I was shopping in the same bracket of bikes and ended up with a v4 hightower. I sorta hastily moved up my purchase timeline once the new colors were released... I really had a thing for the purple 2025' color way. So far, it's more then met my expectations and this iteration of VPP with significantly lower anti-squat has been really impressive. It's for sure more active under pedaling and with choppy pedal strokes, I can get it to bob slightly even while the chain is under tension. The upside is that it has more traction climbing ledgy/rooty stuff then...

Nabbed a new Ripmo V3 for a good price. It's definitely a welter weight with stock wheels but a lighter set of wheels and tires decidedly put a good bit of pep in its xc-ish step. I had intentions of getting the rocker and clevis to turn it down to a Ripley V5 but honestly haven't felt the need to with the lighter wheelset. Likely will still at some point (tinkerers gotta tinker), but that's very low priority for now. I've only two complaints with it. 1. the tube in tube routing for the dropper prevented me from running a...

I'm hesitant to chime in as I see the discussion has veered pretty heavily towards pricing, but I'd throw the Ibis Ripley V5 into the mix. I've been on one for about a year and a half and it's a really impressive trail bike. 130/140 travel, 29 or MX wheels with a flip chip that keeps the geometry intact, well executed in-frame storage, and DW Link suspension. I run mine a few different ways - stock suspension (Float/34) for a lighter, sportier feel and a Vivid air/Lyrik for more support and rowdier riding. Also change up the wheels between full...

I spent a bunch of time demo'ing trail bikes over the last 6 months. A few impressions below, I'm 6'2" so a few of my impressions are driven off of that. -Tallboy is still the benchmark and nearly impossible to beat and the geometry has no surprises, nor weird steps between sizes. A platform that can punch above or below it's weight depending on the build you go for. A new one is coming, but it will be more of a nudge towards all mountain, yet still a trail bike. -I prefer the smuggler to the spur. The spur gets...

I mean, its what it says on the scale when I weigh it. Obviously the bike isnt super rideable with these tires - Even though I ride it on XC trails, I have flatted two rears already. So I will be swapping to something a bit burlier (forekaster rear, Dissector gen 2, both exo+ up front I think) - . I wanted to build a light bike, but if it was 12.9kg or 13.5kg I didnt really care about, as long as it rolls easy and feels nimble. The wheels are actually a bit lighter than what I stated above...

I've got a little conversation piece for everyone—I've been riding a Maxxis' High Roller a lot the past year and a half, and was curious how Continental's Argotal would compare since it's pretty similar. I rode them back to back the past few months as a front tire to see what the deal was. And to try and better understand why I've shifted to really liking these mixed-conditions, open tread designs so much as a front tire over the popular Assegai-esque designs. Here is the article - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/argument-against-transition-knobs-con… The TLDR is that they both are great tires for a wider...

Great job on this event! I actually think that you have something very, very special here, with huge growth / viewership potential. If you don't mind, here's some observations: 1. Try to include more head / head racing. Like an actual dual slalom, maybe split between one lane at beginning of event, and one at end. Rider's time is the main measure, but a bonus for winning your heats. 2. Start the whole thing with something stupid, but easily relatable: A long jump-downhill jump style. Don't laugh, people will love this cause it's simple to understand. 3. Run this as...

I've been running the new Dissector in the rear (MaxxGrip DoubleDown) the past three days in Whistler. Here is a wear update at 57 miles, 10,600 ft climbing and 15,000 ft descending. Initial thoughts: Sick rear tire for down country and trail riding. Side lugs have good support, transit knobs add consistency when leaning over, and it rolls nice and fast. It's also got deep enough knobs that it can grab traction in moderately loose/mixed soil. I've really enjoyed how it allows my rear wheel to settle through supported corners. My rear wheel will slightly break loose and whip around...

The Lift damper only came out last year, and the V2 update just this spring, so it's only very recently been in our own forks. But, in prior years, our Ribbon forks won "Suspension Product of the Year" on PB and received very positive reviews from WideOpen Mag, Singletrack, and elsewhere – including a great user review here. So, in my eyes they're hardly "meh," but people are entitled to their own opinions. Hope we get to change yours in the future. 👍

The ultimate fork hack is buying a cheap take-off fork and put a Lift damper in it. That will be a better setup than any stock Ultimate Rockshox or Factory Fox fork and much cheaper.
