I was concerned as well! Putting in the 8.5 setting instead of the 10"mode helped split the length difference (5mm total). Surprisingly it ride very stable!

Doubt it's financial but one never knows, and I agree that darkfest is the best covered or most content-ed of the series. It's a shame they called Sam out by name and made this post with little attempt to disguise the pettiness. There are just waaaaay better ways...

The only thing that I can think of is Sam's build videos on his YouTube channel. Are they concerned that he's making too much off of those? Frankly, I'm often disappointed with the coverage of other Fest Series events. They show up out of nowhere, give a lackluster amount of coverage and then are gone.

I always ride with a protractor, a level and a folding meter-stick so when I see proto bikes on the trail i can run up and measure the seat angle. Makes it easier to go complain in the pinkbike comments before everyone else does.

Ah I think I knew that about the Z2, now that you mention it. Good points overall. $550 is solid, but I still don't feel like it's too much to ask for the Charger damper here. A quick google shows the Charger is now over 7 years old and MC over 11 years old. Totally amicable arguing here, but 7 year tech is already pushing it imo for a new product, and I'm still going to stand by my original sentiment that 11 year old tech is simply too old and kind of ridiculous at this point. It's kind of ridiculous at this point. I can't remember when exactly MC was released but I'm almost positive it was over 10 years ago. We are in the third gen of the charger and likely headed for another revamp this year. The original charger was good but not great compared to the 2.1, feel like it was the least they could do considering the Z1 and Z2 come with the relatively new Grip Damper.
