A few hours after DH finals were over last wknd, I randomly ended up sharing the elevator (for all of one floor) with CG. He made a comment about how the race was incredible, I commented how Snowshoe somehow always delivers exciting racing, and he made a few other comments about the perfect weather, incredible fans, and great vibe. I realize this was a single, random interaction but the guy seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the whole thing. It's an elevator ride, he could have said nothing. I'm not a huge fan of his commentary, but I don't think he deserves...

Man... I'd love to see Rob back but that's poor form in my opinion. The guy is trying and I see his game improving. I have noticed he has been popping up in the background of vlogs and track walk videos more often. Broadcasting is a tough game and I'm sure if we went back to Rob's first 9 races...

They are doing ok in the UK and looking to expand further. Still small batch and long waits (8 weeks or so) but they seem to be weathering it out. Still cheaper than a Yeti.

I ran into some of the Yeti camp on the hill in snowshoe. I asked if Richie was racing downhill next year. He said Yeti is going to follow what ever he wants to do. So i asked if that means they wont have one or other. They said they will have both a downhill and enduro team next year.

I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and wanting to add to the pot for the Shorts Bounty. So rad!! But for now we are just going to keep it to the $250 we will put up. However, since we started doing the Burgtec Labour of Love award this year with the podcast, many have chimed in wanting to donate additional funds. I'd rather people help out with that award because it goes to riders who are often up-and-coming and need the money most to continue chasing the dream. So with that said, I'll look into options for next season for people to...

Even Amazon fell victim to the overly ambitious growth coming out of COVID. They planned to develop a huge number of fulfillment centers and ended up shelving most of them including their new HQ in Virginia. It is so easy to get swept up in the wave of optimism and in large companies with siloed responsibility no one wants to...

I don't follow many of the free riders on youtube, so if anyone has some good rampage vlogs please share. The behind the scenes vlogs have really added to the spectator experience of World Cup and it would be a great build up to Rampage as well.

I suppose that is great for a world cup dh ride where you have a mechanic going over the bike every 5min of trail time, but commercially that would be a huge issue. If it is that sensitive to pressure then what about some dirty stations?

Even now that the cat is out of the bag for Specialized, I don't see the shroud going away anytime soon. The bike looks ugly without it and a major headache to clean the mud out of the nooks and crannies.

Wow first I heard of Whitefish, but makes perfect sense. It feels like Whistler, Angel Fire, Trestle, Mammoth would have marginal gains vs the cost of putting on a World Cup. Where as a place that isn't quite on everyone's shortlist of destination mountain biking could quickly become a top tier destination with a good showing.

I think we can all agree that everyone raced the same course under the same conditions and the best rider for that run stood on the top step at the end of the day. I enjoy the variations and nuance of each world cup track and quite frankly wish there was a broader spectrum in the course design. Snowshoe asked...

Without points on the line it will be interesting to see how the protected riders approach their semi run. We could very well see riders using it as a warm up lap more so than full attack. One of the positive effects of the semi is the refinement of the starting order for the finals. Time spent in the hot...

Listen guy. I can tell you've never been to Snowshoe. It's not flat in the slightest. It's 1430 feet of elevation drop in a mile and a half. It's freaking HARD to race. There is room to have a better World Cup track there. But it's not mandatory. DH World Cup racers putting in a 5-8 second sprint just above the Wild Zone is NOTHING. The sprint isn't even on flat ground. Vouilloz would laugh at it. SnowShoe is HARD. Benoit falling on flat ground breaking his scaphoid had nothing to do with the track. He put his hand out...

You think a niche sport like ours should have our top guys bagging on hard tracks that make them pedal & ride intellugently with finesse & tactics rather than Bruni in his mega aerodynamic unobtainium Dyneema wind tunnel outfit that takes 3 people to pull him into so he can ski race down a Euro slope after 2 pedal strokes?
