I'm sure there is a thread from 20 years ago on RideMonkey that basically has many of the same talking points. The big point I'm trying to make is mountain biking is mountain biking. Its not road cycling, F1, moto, ski racing or ________. It has its own nuances, fans, athletes etc. The faster we all build the sport around what makes this sport great, not what makes other sports great, the better off we'll be as athletes, fans and companies. I've also met CG and agree that he comes across as a good dude. I don't get the impression anyone is saying otherwise. What I and others have said is that his commentary skills need work.
