12/9/2025 12:26pm I try new trails/features on my 175/180 for the added margin for error and come back on my 140/150 after I gain a little confidence on lines, braking points, compressions, etc. Then the 175/180 owns park duty the rest of the time *and 140/150 (sometimes a 147/160) is primary driver for everything else. Then there's the 208/180 mini mullet that's for manic park episodes, the hard tail when my ankles aren't sore enough, the fat bike to fight SAD, and the gravel bike for when all else fails. If I had to pick one, it would be the 140/150 but...

12/9/2025 12:25pm Replying to this and the 3.2 damper. There will be a new boxxxer and Zeb coming with tweaked dampers for the new airspring that we have got the spy shots of.

12/9/2025 5:47am I think like most things this very much depends on where and what you ride. Here in Vancouver almost everyone I know is on a 160-180mm enduro bike. Our trails have a lot of big roots and big compressions so we’re using every bit of travel we can get. Even if you primarily shuttle to the top you’ll likely be pedalling at some point so you rarely see downhill bikes at Seymour.

12/9/2025 5:43am @TEAMROBOT @WalrusRider the system in the Ohlins fork is a fixed adapter attached to the damper and provides a reduced lower leg air spring volume on the right side of the fork. It could be used in both an air and coil version of their fork. The Sub Chamber found in our NINE ONE is integrated into the spring system and, as mentioned, can be toggled on and off externally by the rider via a switch on the top of the fork leg.

12/7/2025 11:39am My grandfather was a bus driver and local side hustle handy man. His wife was the cafeteria lady at the local high school. Retired comfortably at 60 with vacation money. Owned a home kn their late 20s. Everyone of their 4 kids own a home. Was a city councilman for several years. My brother in law is a doctor. But 500k in student loans at 7ish percent means it will be a looooong time before he and my sister’s life actually feels upper class. Add to that the some 30 grand out of pocket they spent on ivf. Do student...

12/7/2025 12:27am This is where the bleed port sits (in a spot where the air can travel out - that's why the diaphragm has been redesigned). I've bled several of these by now via the bleed port with good results each time.

12/7/2025 12:26am To me it looks like the bleed port is at the highest point when the lever is on the bike and the diaphragm has been redesigned to allow air bubbles to travel towards it without getting trapped. With the old diaphragm there definitely would have been a location near the bleed port which would have trapped air behind the ridge.

12/4/2025 9:51am I don't think it correct to assume that "Supercar money" can not be made in the Bike Industry. You can make decent money in the bike industry, then reinvest that money in something that multiplies your wealth astronomically. We live in a crazy world, where you can make insane amount of money with speculation in no time, if you are smart and/or lucky. Now, that money may not directly come from the bike industry, but I would say he could have pulled off his wealth from smart investment of money that he originally made in the bike industry. I believe...

12/4/2025 9:46am If your definition of making money in a cushy fashion is 4 days work for minus £40 and comments like this, then I must be that hanger on using mountain bikers for my benefit. Just to be clear, this was my decision to do this interview and I'm not unhappy about doing that at my cost. YT just covered the bulk of the travel to enable us to do it in-person, which I think provides not only a better quality audio and video experience for you all, but also makes the conversation flow better. This doesn't in any way change...

12/4/2025 9:44am Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

12/4/2025 9:33am Somebody had to say it. And they usually treat their bike like a special operations rifle, with every attachment you can fit on it. Insta360 mounted to the bar, bluetooth speaker hanging off the saddle, the full enduro trailside repair tool kit they probly won't use correctly anyway, garmin cpu mount, phone mount right next to it. Also usually decked out in basically full motocross kit for a green flow trail. Gotta love em

12/3/2025 7:58pm @sspomer I totally get your decision from a web resourcing point of view. Things get really expensive really quick when you need to tack on more power. A lot of cloud hosting providers price exponentially instead of linearly. That being said, I think not pinning a v2 and keeping this way of chatting about rumors is a mistake. This thread works because it allows for banter along side rumors I wouldn't ever care about. Prime example is the Santa Cruz Vala, a bike I have negative interest in. However that did prompt the carcinization of bike suspension discussion (that prompted...

12/3/2025 2:47pm This pic was from last weekend, and more white stuff has since dropped (and is continuing to drop). Local riding season may very well be over, and that means time for suspension projects! There is a lot in the works, including another coil shock test and comparison. The Battle of the Bombers The Marzocchi Bomber CR (and previously the Fox Vanilla RC) has gained quite a following due to the solid architecture and ability to modify it to suit a wide spectrum of end users. It utilizes a light weight and compact chassis, has a large 27mm main piston, is...
