7/5/2025 6:21pm I'm sure I'll get hate for this, but I'm not sure a dh race is the place to bring your dog. I've had enough issues with trail dogs (I feel pretty strongly that most dogs shouldn't come along for the ride and aren't as great on the trail as their owners say they are) and not sure massive crowds full of yelling, screaming people is the place to bring your dog.

7/4/2025 8:38pm Long time lurker in the forums, thought I'd finally chime in since I own an Edge. Riding background: 43yo ex middle-to-back of the pack pro. I don't take nearly the chances I used to (career and kids to think about) but I still like to ride fast and push myself. I ran a Fox 38 Factory before I purchased the Intend. I liked the support the Fox offered, but could never quite dial it in to get the sensitivity I was looking for. With the 38, I always started experiencing serious arm pump, leading me to cut riding days short...

7/4/2025 8:31pm The lubrication thing is a bigger deal than people realise - currently conventional forks have a tiny amount of oil and don't always perform as well as they could because that oil wants to sit at the bottom. Open bath forks are a little better but turning the bushings around makes for a much better system to reduce friction. I service about 1 Rockshox RS-1 fork a year and they have been very impressive in how reliable they are - a sid or revelation with the same number of k's would have been destroyed! This one did over 10,000k between...

7/4/2025 12:10pm i've always wondered the same b/c he never shows up in results. i just asked neko who replied saying that asa is out there, but he doesn't put his timing chip on and uses his gopro to analyze his sector times. i guess it's a strategy/mystery move.

7/4/2025 12:09pm "2. Closing a feature to a single group of contestants alone is wrong. Build a course that is rideable for everyone! Also junior woman." Can't get behind this take. The difference in ability between elite men and junior women is massive. They should instead make a more interesting B-line than just a wooden ramp to the side, should make it more enjoyable for the riders.

7/3/2025 9:10pm I'll just patiently wait for Fox to release a rebranded, cheaper, Marzocchi version so I can perform coil debauchery like god intended.

7/3/2025 10:14am I raced the EWS in La Thuile 9 years ago!!! The loam was really good, the dirt was also amazing. It seemed to have less clay content that what you find at lots of race venues in the alps so there was grip even in the moist areas. The fresh grass and heather was tough to race on. That Slayer proto was also tough to race on as the A-S and A-R numbers were aggressively high but that didn't seem to faze Florian Nicolai later on when he got a frame. This shot was from practice day as you need...

7/2/2025 2:19pm Can anyone compare the feel and performance of the Podium to a Fox or Rockshox fork equipped with a coil conversion like the Push kit? I think yzdef mentioned he was on avalanche coil stuff. All the excitement about the Podium got me thinking back to the days when a coil sprung front fork for trail applications was one of...

7/2/2025 1:40pm Yeah that is fair, also if anyone is able to push the limits of torsional flex it would be Richie Rude......everyone else, not so much. The other thing I would add is I don't actually believe that bikes and parts can make some one faster, but they can hold you back - there is for sure a point where if something is performing or set up badly it will slow you down, so as long as its working well enough and you have some headroom then you don't need anything better. That point is going to be different for everyone...

6/30/2025 6:56pm We have a BRAND NEW DH race venue for a World Cup race this weekend in La Thuile, Italy. The track is steep with plenty of duffy, natural sections and a questionable finish feature. Weather looks atrocious a week out from the race, but maybe dry conditions will find their way in. There's an EDR and DH this weekend, and we'll have Lawlor on Pit Bits, Vital RAW and The Weekend videos. Post up all the vlogs and social media content here as we get ready for a freshy! 6/30/2025 6:52pm I used to work in sawmills, they were/are large employers in many small towns across the US and Canada. Let's say in an older 2 line sawmill you would need 30 people to run a shift and you would run 2 shifts a day (just to run the machines, no management or trades). If you install a new sawmill now you can have 4 people processing the same amount of lumber. Will more industry bring more money to the US? Yes. Will it bring more jobs? Probably not as many as people are expecting.
