I know I know. I wrestled with doing it but after mountain biking for 25+ years and owning probably 50+ bikes, I'm finally having a custom bike built exactly how I want it. I don't plan to ever sell the bike and will probably hand it down to one of my kids. I'm also having the builder not install any cable routing for shifting, It's going to primarily be a single speed so I wanted to have as clean a frame as possible. Looks good, glad to see more companies going wireless with droppers. I've been running AXS droppers for 2+ years on 2 different bikes and I absolutely love it. So much so, that I'm having a custom steel hardtail built and I elected to have the builder add no dropper cable routing so I can only run a wireless dropper.

It is really cool to see this stuff coming out for us peons. I checked the under the collar height and it's 7mm less than OneUp's closest offerings, albeit 10mm less travel. But I'd take the 200mm post. 290mm insertion length, and not having to worry about a cable, and more travel than an AXS post... SOLID. If the actuation speed is fast, and reliability is there, I'd call this post a winner.

Just wanted to share my recent experience with 5dev customer service. I had ordered a set of 145mm enduro cranks from them last fall purely out of short crank curiosity. With the never ending winter we had in Utah I hadn't gotten around to installing them and then someone in this thread noted they were actually for youth riders. I contacted them a couple days ago and they were super cool, sent me out a set of the new freeride cranks and a return label for the old ones. Just watch out if you have shallow rims and use Cuchcore... The threaded portion of the E13 valve was too long and protruded 2-3mm past the valve's aluminium base, so the valve hole was pushing into the Cushcore foam and the air woulnd't come out. I had to de-bead my tire, get gummy hands, and I replaced the valve with another Cushcore valve. I'm using WTB Asym and KOM Tough rims and the 16-24mm (the shortest they sell) E13 valve tube was way too long. It seems like a great valve, just not with an insert like that (unless you...

And the bar continues to rise It's going to be a wild season....This video also made me think about how cool a wheel sponsor would have been when I was racing, so I could no-brake into boulders without batting an eye. I'm almost positive that is what was separating me from the top 20.

If your running shorter cranks to reduce rock strikes, then lowering the bb for some reason, aren't you just going to be striking you cranks as much as before as well as smashing you bash guard/chain ring more? Seems like your taking a step forward and 2 back......

1/5/2024 1:08pm I went full dummy mode to 155mm Canfields. It was a hard comparison to my other bike as I was also switching bikes/wheel size (‘16 134 27.5 to ‘22 153 29). I had 175s on the 134.
