1/28/2022 11:25pm Pretty much, it’s about getting coverage for their sponsors which lead to sales (hopefully), that’s why the likes of Brendan Fairclough make great money (presumably) even though he hasn’t one or podiumed in a long time but produces loads of content/publicity for his sponsors.

The idea was genius, and it looks like the content is great to boot. I'm sure this will kick off similar projects in the next few years.

1/4/2022 3:03am It is rarely the first week of January that these announcements get made, especially for the high profile riders, they probably need to do some photoshoots with new team kit, new parts etc.

in = fun on bikes. out = articles that make people argue about stuff.

Eoin Added a comment about press release Laurie Greenland Leaves Mondraker After 6 Years
12/17/2021 9:09am I heard he wanted to unionise, but they didn't let him, so he is joining a different kind of association, with a goat.

12/7/2021 2:31am I have one of these strapped to my frame for the past 3 years in case my tubeless setup fails... But have never used it because of the price

Eoin Added a reply to How Much Reach is Too Much Reach?
11/26/2021 8:05am I'm with you on the "if you can only have one bike, might as well get an ebike with all the travel", but I would be a little cautious about comparing reach, and maybe even wheelbase, from a regular bike accross to an e-bike. E-bikes are so stable you don't really need the extra stability of ultra modern geometry. My...

11/26/2021 7:51am Thank you for the upcoming nightmares. I will say bolts loosening on ebikes is a pain, I need to toque check my rear end after every ride, between the pivot bolts and the rear axle you need to over torque everything to make through a big ride.

11/17/2021 7:24am I feel like focusing on frames isn't really the way to go, the parts that wear surely have a much bigger impact considering how fast we go through them. Tyres: when you dump a tyre it is usually because the thread is worn out, sometimes even just barely or partially (e.g. no side knobs). Couldn't the big brands have recycling...
Eoin Added a reply to Shimano... Magura... Shigura Brake Setup
10/14/2021 8:39am I can't really contribute to the conversation... But I will say Galfer 220 discs with Codes is a great upgrade, not necessarily for the extra power, but they are so thick they reduce the SRAM lever throw and actually make the levers feel pretty good. (very hard not to have brake rub though)

10/11/2021 12:27am Reviving this thread for a minute: I am looking at online shops in Europe, it seems there are barely any front mixed condition tyres available: Magic marys or shortys specifically. I'm kind of blown away, there are plenty of 27.5 variants, and a sliver of weird narrow, light, hard compound 29 ones, but almost no "normal" front tyre options. Hopefully...

10/8/2021 6:23am Counter point: He is also most likely to hit the largest drop on the course. (although it seems that might not happen this year from his vlog, kinda surprised he is going for the same line that didn't score that well)

10/7/2021 5:07am The tape was for the spectators, the gates for the racers. In DH they have 2 sets of tape to create a safe zone, that isn't really realistic for an enduro course. They knew people where likely to crash so used the gate system + tape. I agree it is not a great setup from the organisers, and they could...

9/17/2021 8:26am Well, here is the answer to the question (it is way way closer than I realised): Daprela must stop Vergier from winning, or be within a couple of places. If Loris is top 10, Daprela must be top 20, so don't expect any safe runs. Vergier (1), beats Daprela (2) :[250, 200][956, 952] Vergier (2), beats Daprela (4) :[200, 150][906...
Eoin Added a comment about feature 2022 Yeti 160E Review
9/14/2021 7:57am Well, I don't care that much about e-bike racing, but it is interesting: Older riders can compete wihtout a disadvantage from fitness, bike design possibly plays an important role in results (Lapierre 1-3 on a race focused bike, Bosch dominating the climbing stage). Also 9 stages, 20+ minutes of descending without any lifts (I think), is pretty cool representation of what can be done on these things.
