4/20/2025 7:48pm STFU guides. They actually work. They also help with the mythical pedal kickback. External cables with proper guides/clamps. Lastly a silent rear hub. But none of it really matters when you ride solo with earbuds in 90% of the time.

earleb Added a reply to Whistler Bike Park Seasons Passes not being sold to Yanks
4/20/2025 9:18am Just saw an article about AI chat bots used for custom service making up false reasons for stuff. What are the odds your buddy didn't know he was talking to an AI bot?

4/18/2025 5:42pm Okay we will keep the boarder open and let you guys buy Whistler passes but for the love of God can you bozo's stop driving slow in the left lane on the Sea to Sky. Looking at you WA plates. Keep right except to pass, say with me again but slowly this time. Keep right except to pass.

4/16/2025 12:00pm Yes. We had a standard that did not require threads to be cut into either frames *or* the calipers themselves. Roach a thread and you don't need to repair a frame, replace a caliper, or bleed your brake line -- just replace a cheap aluminum adapter. And don't get me started on how many slightly different lengths of flat-mount brake bolts are out there because every different chainstay depth requires a different bolt. Flat-mount brakes: brought to you by the same minds that think thru-headset cable/hose routing is a perfectly fine idea.

4/16/2025 9:01am Flat mount in steel MTB is a recipe for disaster. There is very little chainstay remaining once you miter out space for the mount. It was designed for carbon with zero consideration for steel.

4/8/2025 1:40pm We'll see who starts to blend their pricing to try and preserve margin across all markets instead of just dive bombing the US market.

4/8/2025 1:27pm Duty Drawback. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duty_drawback The EO for 25% on Canada specifically said drawbacks no longer applied (so good imported FROM Canada but then exported to some other country). But the April EO's with 10% world wide tariff didn't call out drawbacks. A quick read of the latest EO hitting the world with tariffs it doesn't call out drawbacks. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/regulating-impo…
earleb Added a comment about press release Cascade Components Releases Linkage and High-Pivot Conversion for the Specialized Stumpjumper 15
4/8/2025 11:49am The S15 just came out how long ago? Did the buyer not know like 6 months ago that they wanted a HP bike? It's a neat idea, personally I just don't get it's appeal outside of the novelty.

4/4/2025 4:28pm Yes let's hear why you feel there shouldn't be a return to a more progressive tax structure. Tell us all about how well trickle down economics has worked out.

4/3/2025 11:36am Were the Brand X posts not just rebranded Trans-X posts priced as a loss leader for CRC?

4/3/2025 10:13am Sitting on old inventory just became more valuable. New stuff that hasn't landed yet is going to be much more expensive. Customers will be faced with a decision to pay more for the new new or, pay less for the old new. Hopefully the big boys landed all that rumoured Covid overstock into the US before yesterday. If not they'll...

3/19/2025 11:59am I'll certainly play with post height in the 3-7 mm range till it feels right. I'll also make an adjustment if I know it's going to be a long singletrack climb (1200+m of constant climbing). Might even adjust saddle tilt a wee bit. Also for long extended Dh usually enduro racing I'll drop the post in the frame aprox 30-50mm...

3/18/2025 3:25pm 181cm tall and find a 150mm drop to be plenty. Even at 150mm I don't regularly drop it all the way. I scratch my head at how people find a need for 200+mm droppers.

3/18/2025 2:33pm Yep that's it. The angle of the housing end is tight to the frame. Somewhere in the docs is recommended chainstay cable port exit recommendations.

3/17/2025 4:43pm Do you have a big flat heavy surface you could mount the frame to? Wouldn't take too much to replicate what Joe did in this Starling video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zto62OypjUk&ab_channel=StarlingCycles
