1/28/2025 12:54pm Bushing require tight tolerances and proper maintenance. The cycling industry is crappy at tight tolerances. Most cyclist are crappy at maintenance. It's a win win resulting in the horrible reputation that bushings have. Like press fit bearings, they are the correct engineering solution. But that would require the bike industry to stop being crappy.

1/8/2025 3:48pm The preloaded angular contact bearings with pinch bolts on the pivot axle is how I have done most of my garage build full suspension frame main pivot bearings. Conveniently I used headtube stock for the pivot housing and two headset top bearing sets and a steertube off cut to achieve it all. Works nice a slick.

11/30/2024 8:09pm 99% of the car shop welders have never touched a thin wall steel tube and will blow holes into their first few tube sets. Their heat control will also turn the alignment into a pretzel. Majority of custom frame builders aren't making a living selling the number of frames they do make at the rate they charge.

11/13/2024 9:43am This has been the first flex stays frame I have built. Previously there have been three linkage driven single pivots and a classic single pivot. The rear end sits at neutral at 40% travel with the shock removed.

11/12/2024 11:13pm In Canada we have a program of duty drawbacks. If you import product to them export it you can claim back your initial duty paid on import. A quick google says US has a similar program.
