I still ride around with my number plate from a halloween graveyard crit on my road bike. It's at night, in the cemetery, in the dark, and you've got to put a beer down every lap and it's rad as hell.
It's likely for more consistent kinematics, namely antisquat. Someone mentioned it in the sea otter thread. By using this set up, you can change the effective gear ratio by modifying the size of the internal cogs, without changing the chains path and therefore anti squat of the bike.
Another wild thing about this Demo is that it uses a GXP spindle for its crankset. We're almost back to isis bbs haha. And it seems to me that you aren't locked into running sram drivetrains, just the special crankset and Chainrings, but you can run anything else on the back of the bike.
I think the confusion comes from the idea that anolog is the opposite of electronic. The extra stupid thing is that PWM (assuming pulse width modulation) is digitally controlling and analog output. So yeah, the motor is an analog output, but it's still an electric motor controlled by a digital signal sent by a computer, and not the same thing...
Of all the dumb ebike comments in this thread, this one really got to me. "Ebike motors are controlled by analog PWM signals. So they are actually analog by the literal definition of analog." For the 18 people who up-thumbed this, care to explain what the fuck an "analog PWM signal" is?

I think that's sort of the point, the only metric anyone cares about is the motor. The essence of riding an eBike is what the motor gives you. The rest of the "bike" part takes a back seat. And no one seems to care, even though the slippery slope foreboding was waved away as an irrational fear

Well yeah, but they've been owned by United wheels for years now and this is the first new platform since they released the new WFO and the last E bikes, so it's been at least five years. What have they been doing and why isn't it an update for the Rip 9 or any of their other bikes that badly...

We're you able to get a good look at the linkage? It kind of looks like the chainstay is connected to that rocker, instead of a pull link that was on the proto. Is that the case? And is the crank spindle just exposed in there?

Can't help it when those are the pictures that they show haha. It's definitely not all there is to the track, and pictures of Rock gardens don't make most people excited for the Race haha

Please let’s not start that ”it’s too bike park” track talk again, we all know how it went with Poland. Just wait until we see riders riding it.
