Quad 214 is the change on the air piston for gen 1 Mezzer. Makes the fork better at small bump, I have had it for several years on my Mezzer forks and like it. I do replace the 214 with a new one at each service, have experimented with a more resilient material on that ring (same size) than straight Buna rubber which seems to hold up better as far as replacing it less often. https://www.theoringstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&pr… these guys. Have been using this one as well - https://www.theoringstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cP…

I'm reading that as the piston being connected to the shaft via a spring, similar in effect to the buttercups on RS forks

It's not, thankfully, Blister has a photo of it on their review below. It looks like it's a short spring (5mm) that preloads the piston to get it moving https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/manitou-mezzer-mezzer-lt-gen-2

This already happened... the original rims were branded Santa Cruz. They then switched to Reserve branding.

Sorry, by OEM I meant that I've only seen them come on complete bikes. Here are some pictures They're on Gr30 wheels and the road 40/44 wheels. The higher end builds do have dt hubs. I do think I've seen them on some aluminum mountain wheels, but I don't have pictures or the bike anymore.

I want to preface this by saying I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but it seems to me that people complaining that the bike wasn't made for them is partially what lead to the V6 Tallboy the way it is. It's become part of the homogenous mass of Horst link bikes. I remember times when people complained...
And that's the concern, not that the new Tallboy isn't a "good bike" it's probably pretty good for the average rider, but that SC is losing focus on what made them good. It's that cost savings comes before design and brand identity. I can see why Rob Roskopp left the brand.
