12/13/2024 2:57pm Yeah, I remember reading that, I think @Dave_Camp was the one who was commenting on the RS nomenclature being consistent throughout the shocks. I have a few folks I know looking to jump ship from X2s to Vivids and I wanted to see if I could help them figure out a decent base tune based on Fox's L/M/H to RS's...

12/13/2024 10:48am Thanks again for everyone's help! For those who have tested things in dyno, is there any correlation to Fox's tune codes to RockShocks? E.g is the light compression code for Fox similar to the c26 compression code and so on. Be curious on where each of the companies "tunes" land in comparison to each other.

12/11/2024 6:54pm When you order it, it does actually come tuned for you already. But since a lot of people love tinkering with their setups, we figured we'd try to make it easier rather than obstruct their efforts.

12/12/2024 11:49am Having spent a good long while on the Telum on my Dreadnought v2 all I can say is that it's everything I'd expect it to be and more. Honestly for how well built, thought out, and amazing this shock is I am honestly impressed it doesn't cost more. Between the shock, the tune hub and just Vorsprung's ethos to customer care and service, I can that it's been worth every cent I've paid for it. Also, Steve and the team at Vorsprung are just solid humans. I ended up having a couple needs on the shock taken care of during...

12/9/2024 4:03pm Thanks for your replies everyone! I already have a bulk of the tools since I moonlight as an overflow bike mechanic/bike builder. A couple shaft clamps and a few bespoke tools isn't that bad for what seems to be a natural step in my bike maintenance experience. Couple more questions: Is it worth getting a low range torque wrench (1-3...

12/7/2024 8:07am Good folks of Vital. So, because I have nothing going on in my life outside of bikes apparently and a bad case of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S). I am seriously thinking about getting the tooling to start doing full shock services/re-shimming in my garage. I've already gone down the rabbit hole of simple suspension services for my forks/shocks like lower...

11/23/2024 7:37am Not that I have to tell the crowed on this form anything, but once again I get irked with people who try to pass off cheeper "knock offs" as just as good as the real thing because "they are all made in the same factory." I mean, they probably are, but by paying for the actual product instead of the...

11/13/2024 11:44am I think the Medium is probably for a kid on the smaller end to grow into. I don’t see someone 5’9” starting on a Scout even though they’re in the recommended size range. If you’re already in the size range of “adult” bikes then you should start there. In my opinion, dual 27.5 bikes for average sized riders (and larger) are pointless; and they are dying out for a good reason. Unless you’re doing X-ups and barspins you’re not going to notice the loss of “playfullness” with a mullet and you will benefit from the extra rollover. That’s my hot...

11/11/2024 8:45am Jeff, how liquid should I be for the impending trade war? I'd also be curious to get folks thoughts on if they'd be more willing to buy bike components that were made domestically. I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, advocating for tariffs. More just curious on if seeing "USA" or "EU" made on particular bike components might...

DServy Added a reply to Thoughts on the current generation of forks
10/15/2024 6:50pm As someone who has some home burnishing equipment at his house (started a couple years ago), it's been pretty nice to have and there seems to be some benefit. However, it does seem that the fork performance tends to "degrade" quicker in between services. I find myself needing to really adhere to the service intervals. Fun fact about my experience...

10/14/2024 8:38pm This is pretty interesting to me because I moved to a more "damper forward" due to the time I spent in Whistler/Sea to Sky this summer (I was up there for a while). I found that relying on the damper just tracked the ground way better and prevented the natural "lack of support" hammock that crops up with air springs...
DServy Started a new thread Thoughts on the current generation of forks
10/14/2024 11:31am As some of our riding seasons ramp down, I wanted to spend some time getting some feedback on what people's experiences with the newest generation of forks (and fork dampers). It seems to me that the latest set of dampers (charger 3.1 and Grip X families) have emphasized actual usable HSC, and there seems to be a shift from using...

10/8/2024 2:56pm Small tip for people using the Maven bleed kit. It's pretty much impossible to get the air completely out of the syringe hoses before installing them on the brakes, because after pushing the last of the air out, the seal causes the piston to retract slightly and pull a bubble of air back in. Just make sure you always start your bleed by pulling the syringe plunger slightly before pushing it to migrate this bubble out the hose and into the syringe reservoir, to avoid shooting this air bubble into your brakes and making your bleed more difficult than it...

10/5/2024 9:33am Rumour of my demise have been exaggerated. We are safe. But we are forever changed. A water & wind event of near biblical proportions hit us & has taken far more lives than can be counted. Didn't know where to make my one post, but this will be it for a long time. No politician, no plan, no design could have stopped anything that happened here. A stream I could step across took the first home at the top of it. A friend lost 10 members of his family saving his wife and kids watching his parents & relatives swept...

10/2/2024 7:26pm To mark the official arrival of Crab Link as a thing. I did a thing you can install on your chrome based browser (basically completely 100% stolen from the cloud to butt plugin) I present Horst Link to Crab Link Chrome based plugin! https://github.com/DServy/horst-to-crab See it in action here! Edit: Please, no one actually use this.
