My understanding of it is that the teams standing is made up of the points of the riders for next season . so putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5 , possibly the pivot team might look different next year . It looks to me that brands are cutting back on B teams and probably Enduro to support the costs of a more expensive DH world cup season . I agree that it’s definitely not ideal and the points structure is wack, but it might be a positive for events like this. Having top pros show up at these regional-level events could be great for them.

Matt and Eddie have no DHI pioints to offer, because EDR does not count as UCI points. Jenna has no points either, in the last 2 seasons she was injured. Negotiations could be difficult with the beloved manager. So signing a women and another male would help a lot to increase the team points.

MUTN podcast mentioned Giant and a relaunched Giant DH program. Not sure how that works, but they said something about him being back on a brand he had success with.

No benefit at all, but it does buy you some breathing space if your team has issues with injuries, crashes etc. If you were say 13th-15th, and have a bad run of not scoring, you are suddenly looking iffy. This has happened with the road WorldTour relegations, which work on a rolling multi-year points total. Those teams a few spots above the cut-off can have a bad season and be in trouble and scrambling for points.

I would imagine Pivot would be ok if nothing were in flux...but teams are still signing/losing riders (or haven't announced the riders they've signed) so theoretically a few teams could come out of "nowhere" with big-points signings that push Pivot out of the top 15. BK didn't have a great season, Jake, Dane, and Ryan all earned points but there's a rumor that Jake and Dane are going to Norco. I don't think Jenna, Morgane, Teagan, Matt, or Eddie earned any points that contribute to the DH team rankings. If I were in spots 11-15 in the potential mtb elite...

I would have thought that team is well enough to qualify. Are they just off the mark or something? Or... Is this also related to issues where last years riders wont be on that team? I'm still iffy on understanding the sort of exceptions/wild card rules they have that would allow someone like Asa to stay on Frameworks even if the team isn't quite qualifying on points.
