Hi there again. I have another team/frame change I wanna share Smile Remy Morton will be riding nicolai bikes next year because he was sick of cracking FRS frames on a weekly base. Nicolai bikes will make him a custom 24" rear wheel, chainless bikepark bike that isnt official yet

Re Brosnan: I don't know his situation, but here is my hypothesis. He's newly married, has a hobby farm with horses and cool shit and it's Summer Holidays here in Aus (Everyone stops working for a month lol) It's 35 degrees every day, the suns out, the beach is ready and the beers are cold! Last thing I'd want to do now is head on a 24 hour flight back to Europe on the covid tin can, shiver my balls off in some French ski village away from your loved ones when he could be eating Prawns and smashing beers...

Ha! No two bikes are the same, even if both have similar geometry. Yeah, it may not be literal rocket science, but there is definitely a lot of science (engineering) that goes into developing a bike. In the PB podcast Brook said he felt great on the bike but the limits of the bike were not competitive with other bikes in the DH WC races. He continues, he felt super sketchy when surpassing the limits of the bike in trying to keep up with other racers. That says a lot! If Brook gets into a new frame that he feels...

It's still not rocket science, no matter how much we love to think it is- and I need about them as much as anyone else. Save for extreme choices like Unno most frames are pretty similar in geometry, and most of the are prototypes anyway with a wide range of adjustment. You could go to a different team and still...

I'm looking at his resume on Roots right nowHis peak seems to happened in 2019, with three straight top 10. Between 2021 and 2022, when he goes to Mondraker I don't see much of a change, he's hoovering between 10/20 as per usual. 2023 is a different story since he had a very complicated spinal surgery at the start of...

Agree, I don't think bikes play that big of a role. I mean, frames are not rocket science and, in general, geometries are pretty similar all across the World Cup. In fact, I would go as far as to say that, if frames were covered during tests, 99% of reviewers wouldn't be able to tell brands apart. Mondraker haven't scored...

I am not getting this hate, especially from us, who are obviously outside the racing field. It is impossible to judge what a good bike is and what not and especially what a good bike COULD be. How could we, with pretty much no inside knowledge, know that? Just by sheer assumption? Assumptions without solid information are most of the times logical errors. Having success takes a whole lot of ingredients, especially in something like DH racing. I guess sometimes being in the zone and fully motivated could mean more than having a ”good” bike, whatever that may be. Related...

Loris off trek seems extremely doubtful, as he was just out in California testing with the team. I know contracts go through and if year, but i doubt they’d make him fly to America and test new product if he’s leaving in a few weeks.

Ron, just curious because obviously your his dad and know him better than everyone here, but I'm interested on the reasoning that you're disagreeing he's not manicured compared to others. Front the outside, I've been watching Jackson since he was on a run bike. I've high fived him in the whistler lift line when he wasn't even chest high to me, which at 5' 8", is not that tall. Starting riding and being into the sport as consistently as he has from a young age and being in the area that arguably has the best riding per KM in the...

That's mostly a recency bias. Every single winner or near winner over the years has had something truly unique that makes them pop. Hill's turning speed & momentum generation The Alien's precision & technical perfection Lopes - highest RPM's on earth Palmer - so much like Hill but damn near boring to see in person it was so effortless Rennie - Power, technicality, precision & brute force. Could do BMX park moves on a DH Kovarik - Maximum power & speed. An NFL Safety on 2 wheels Gwin - Strength & an ability to turn on a dime GM -...

I have said it before, been watching/following DH for well over 25 years. I have no idea where his career will go with wins and championships, but he is by far the most gifted rider I have ever seen. The kid is something special and just fun to watch ride a bike. Nico was like a calculated surgeon, Sam Hill when he came on the scene was amazing and loose, then Gwin a professional in every sense of the word, Stevie had a great run going, Amaury too, Minnaar has always been top of the game. Goldstone just makes it...

You're probably right, but at the end of the day wasn't it his choice to cash out and sell to PON? You can't have it both ways and to me, he comes off as an entitled asshole stuck in his version of "the good ol' days". I don't know how the decision to cut Greg happened, but I think it would be smart build the future of the team around Jackson and there's only so much a brand can budget for a race team. Speculating that the budget was set, and the decision was between keeping Greg and cutting support...
