Wow. I thought that was who Dunne would be riding for next year and I wonder where Suarez will end up? Questions, questions.
Hmm people were thinking that Suarez was the one who was going to Frameworks. Maybe that's true?
I'm putting my money on Charlie Harrison joining FrameWorks. Asa, Neko, Charlie sounds like a pretty awesome lineup!
Angel's got no angel.. he's been hopping on and off for a while now. Hope he does better next time!
Ángel and Dunne to Mondraker and alpinestars...that is my guess
Troy brosnan to syndicate in 2025
Either way, Nekos done an impressive job with promotion and sponsorship, since 100 bikes haven’t even yet been sold. But somehow he’s pulling in a million dollars to run three riders on the WC circuit.
Three riders, probably two mechanics, paying Martin Whiteley, travel, salary, taxes - surely this venture requires a cool mil.
Content is king
I don’t think bike sales had anything to do with his team budget. I bet that was settled long before they confirmed they would actually sell a run of bikes this year. He puts out great content and has a lot of eyes on his project, that’s worth a lot to his sponsors.
Neko is like the guy that had the vision quest, and the quest turned prophetic.
Amazing that being open and honest, showing passion and hard work culminate in success.
However this team turns out, how couldn't you root for frameworks? At a time when companies are closing doors and shutting down support, Frameworks is growing.
We need a Logan video announcement! One has to be coming!
if he grew his hair out we could call him the bike Jesus.
This could be a hint… anyone seen Angel in the US or Logan in Europe this fall? Charlie has been on the bike and nearby Logan and folks…
I wish teams could only be of a certain number and there were team points. It would provide a reason to watch riders outside the top 30 with more rooting interest and give those riders closer to mean reason to push harder.
Martin's proposed structure makes all the sense in the world too. What's crazy, would simply require
Some papering restructure.
There are team points, currently used to award the team standings for the day and the overall but they're not well-known or understood (or worth much).
I would be surprised to hear the frameworks team has a million dollar budget. Teams with consistent podium riders can cost less than that… junior salaries like Asa are nowhere near that of a top elite rider. It seems like there was hints at the riders getting a share in the company as part of their contract compensation too.
There maybe funding streams for the team that are not necessarily just made on a business decision. Sometimes people with money want to see their friends succeed at what they are doing and are willing to support that without seeing a direct monetary benefit.
Yeah, but it's super fun as currently is.
Charity sponsorship? Damn, that sounds nice!
In DH, there's a Team known as MS Racing.
In SX, there's a team called Rick Ware Racing.
MCR Bullfrog spas. Team Tedder. Every local AX/SX privateer with a construction company sponsor lol.
There is a maximum of ten riders for uci elite teams at world cup mtb and there is an overall team ranking for all disciplines.
It's been like that for many years
If you’ve got $10k for a quarter panel when the tier 1 team’s quarter panel goes for $150k, Rick Ware will put your name on it. He’s a hustler. On the SX side, he’s not the fastest paying boss from what I know.
This is obvious...but it's not a good set up. To be in the "team" competition the teams should be of equal number.
Anyway, I accidentally hijacked this thread.
Back to rumors! Let's go Angel!
I agree 👍
Neko, Asa, mystery rider, Anxo, Logan, probably one other mechanic/support person. At a minimum average of $50k salary per person per year you’re already at $300k. Then Martin Whiteley’s management cost ($25-50k). Add on travel (bare minimum $5k per race per person, so $25-30k per race x 8 WC races, then domestic races. There’s another $300k at a minimum. Tack on insurance, taxes and other stuff. So $600k on a tight budget, and the whole reason riders get Martin Whiteley involved is so they aren’t on a shoestring budget.
I sure hope Neko’s salary is at least $150k though. Hence the round number of a cool mil
I saw that he has been at home for the last couple months so…
I think the team points should be your top 2 men, top women, top junior (men or women).
And you should be required to have them start in order to qualify. If there are going to be less teams then then they should be slightly larger. 10 is a little too much, that might be taken from the original road rules and never adjusted? not sure.
You sure?
Is he faster paying than the team that vaporized under McElrath and others last year?
That was a horrid situation. Come out of 250s as title holder, jacked his back up, missed half the year, showed up for his first 450 qualifier and got 7th....then the season flipped him off & he rolled into that new team and POOF! No team. No money.
We talk about DH having some quick flip circumstances but SX is just evil.
Granted, it's not like DH where you have to travel the world to get to the big events if a team folds. You can at least drive yourself across the US for SX season in a pickup.
Which is why we really need a big money backer for a US National series like Hendrick Auto.
