Hi Ryan! Awesome post, thank you very much! What are your thougths about different frame materials in regards of stiffnes and compliance? Makes sense to you that carbon and alloy versions of a frame share the same design/layout? What do you think about steel full suspension bikes?

Interesting. The quasi-suspension action makes me wonder if this post might be a good candidate for a bikepacking rig. Based on your testing, do you think the motion would be more noticeable (for better or worse) on a hardtail?

It should also be mentioned that there will be retaliatory tariffs imposed by other countries. So, your reward for already making products here? Now, they'll be harder to sell elsewhere. Yay. Then there are tariff exclusions or exemptions, which can be freely given to companies friendly to the administration. Smaller businesses or those without political connections may get stuck with the higher tariffs, which can hurt their ability to compete, even if they produce similar goods or services.

What I am learning (and I know, anecdotes are not data) is that many/most Americans think that foreign companies will have to pay any tariffs and that the buck stops there; that that's how tariffs work, end of story 🥴

I'm a fan of Freerider 2 and Canvas Rider. Here are my favorite tracks: Slopestyle Hall Rocky Shore MTN Track Speedy North Shore North Shore Rampage BIG Jumps Beijing 4X Track Million Tip: Press 'Z' to flip around and 'Enter' to restart I also like the old school 'Trial Bike' game

Very badly. Makes all imported frames and parts more expensive, passes on those costs to consumers. Frames and parts in the country are already discounted to sell, meaning they won't be ordering any more at a 10%+ increased price as they can't already move the cheaper ones. A universal tariff is a horrendous economic policy

Not to be overtly political, but the US’s once and future president has indicated he intends to impose significant tariffs on foreign manufactured goods. Let’s assume for discussion that this actually happens -- anyone care to conjecture what effect such a policy would have on this industry?
