Glad someone pointed this out. The narrative that DH is getting faster and more dangerous has been the same for years and years. The bikes are more capable than ever, riders train more and are fitter and stronger than ever - it's not too surprising that when everyone is pushing as hard as they are that when they crash, there's likely to be more speed involved and that injuries will come about because of it. There are things that aren't being done as well this year as they have been in the past, but trying to pin absolutely everything on...

To the best of my knowledge, as long as she started her qualifying run, she should be in the semis.

Privateer's put in more effort to racing than Dean. Dean hasn't raced a race outside the World Cup (where he has only quallied for the semi's twice) all season, thus no UCI points. Other racers not on teams have raced ISX, Crankworx and national rounds in Europe to get the points required to race. Many are taking the fact they...

There are a lot of riders who should not be on a team next year, but DN is not one of them

Cathro's youtube on the other site has a balanced and articulate wrap up from someone who is fairly unbiased and is at the venue. The organisers where dammed if the do dammed if they don't. What where they to do after almost every rider crashed who rode the track in morning practice, the World Cup leader fell off three times...

Riders doing media is a way to stay relevant or add value for their sponsors. Wyn and Dean wouldn't get a ride purely on results. Neither make the finals and just squeak into the Semi's on a good day. When Jack was dropped from Cannondale at the 11th hour and picked up by Canyon for a low value package Moi...
I gotta say, there are an awful lot of cuts in that footage. I'm sure most of those are talking or looking at the track. I get the feeling there may have been a few tripod slip-n-slides in there.

If Sam Hill knew he was up by 10 seconds coming into the last 2 corners at Val Di Sole World Champs in 2008 would he have taken the inside line and binned it or gone outside railed the berm and have another Rainbow Jersey on the wall?
Thanks for that reply. Here's what one of the replies on the video said: " I've worked as a marshal a few times. In such a case we didn't let them consciously overtake, we radioed the starting number of the faster, running up racer and he got a new start from the race control." Another said: " Also worth mentioning, the slower rider usually knows they're at risk of being overtaken, and they can choose to pull-over and allow the faster rider to pass. Probably more common amateur racing, less common at a world-cup level."

Red bull TV only ever showed 30-35 riders

Looks like a pretty normal DH track to me, a lot of grass, big jumps, banked corners, not that many rocks I guess. Word from the riders is it is very fast, very steep and at times very off camber, not easy to ride. I also bet it will degrade faster than Andorra... Hopefully we can finally get a fair race weather wise... Looking forward to it, way too much moaning this year about tracks, coverage and commentary (in general, not singling out previous comments here). Andorra was the first race this year I got more into the live feed...
