Slikoleum for suspension stuff and Maxima waterproof blue grease for watercraft/motosports for just about everything else for me. Never heard of either of these 3 mentioned. Just stick to what's available at my local watercraft/motosport store.

Besides another great review. This one made me laugh. Have had the same digital fish scale from Walmart for the past 10 years or so that I seen in the beginning of the video. Yes, I struggle to while holding up a complete bike with it, and likewise immediately put a round Mtb sticker to hide the scale logo. Lol! Great minds think alike

I Love the lightweight ebike direction! They did a great job with the spec on this. On the Turbo SL I had to change the fork, shock, and even the rear link to make it ride how I wanted. That adds up $. This seems more on point.

I've only ridden the trail center at the forest of dean and had no idea there were so many more. Kudos to all that have and continue to support these. The concept is so inviting and supportive by having great mtb specific trails for all abilities, local bike shop and rental and nice cafe right at the parking areas. Some complain about the parking fees, but I think it's definitely worth it and the annual pass is a good option if you ride often in the area.

Thanks BHowell and CC. I agree, just didn't want to gamble on the wifey's SB130LR. However, she does like that silver link.....for the shiny factor, of course. Guess I know what V-day gift to get now. Lol! BTW...I second jw05's comment on the Optic and I think we'd both make great test mules. Just saying!

While not on the topic of pedal clearance, with respect to climbing, John did mention this in the review, "With the shock in the open position the rear wheel still conformed to the terrain nicely, performing just as well as the stock link on square edges and the loose and chunky parts." Neither rider had issue with pedal clearance, rather, they did not have a direct experience that was of any notice.

The Yeti links are the only ones with a 7 mm BB drop. These two particular link keep the geo the same as stock. The reason the Yeti links make the bike sit lower is that it was necessary to get the leverage curve we wanted. While that BB drop might not be for everyone, even with it the bike still sits a hair higher than the new Stumpjumper Evo so it's not crazy low.

I've been eagerly awaiting reviews of Cascade links. Sadly, this review brings back memories of Iceman's less than scientific brake test a few years ago ( https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-Face-Off-The-Best-DH-Brakes… ). Don't get me wrong - I appreciate the effort and that access to it is free, but did you guys ever consider using for instance telemetry to quantify your findings and do case by case analysis across multiple scenarios? Aka geek it out, since suspension fine tuning is very much a geeky activeity Doing a qualitative review of something as technical as suspension just seems like an odd approach, especially as...

Great interview reviews using different riders and bikes. Only thing I noticed that wasn't mentioned was about the BB drop affect on the bikes handling going up hill in rough rocky/rooty terrain. I almost got one of these last year, but the 7mm BB drop put me off with a bike that already had a low BB height requiring good pedal timing over rocky uphill climbs to avoid crank and BB strikes. This, even with 165 cranks and a tad higher shock pressure than required for correct sag. Look forward to any feedback on this. Thanks.

The concept of this type of technology comes from motorsports that are carried out on smooth surfaces, e.g. F1 and Moto GP. In those disciplines, brake dive can cause excessive changes to the center of mass and reduce fore-aft predictability/traction. In smooth surface applications, the incredible speeds the racers carry are only possible because of the predictability of surface conditions and a reduced range of potential shock inputs. You don't see this technology taking off in motocross or off-road vehicle racing, and you won't see it function as intended in MTB because conditions are FAR too variable. Brake-dive is spoken...

#2 is a no-go, Fox isn't only about bikes, they cover a lot of powersports too. They are even OEM for the Ford Raptor. A collaboration would make much more sense in that regard, after all, they did develop the 15 mm axle together.
