1/27/2021 12:47pm This isn't necessary for mtb. Pro motocross racers do not use this idea and they are riding much harder and faster when approaching a tight corner. Doing 50 mph to clear a triple then immediately on the brakes hard to rail a berm or run.

1/27/2021 5:36am If this will drop prices on their mechanical stuff, I'm all in! Funny thing is, SRAM will probably have a wireless version of this immediately following Shimano's release for a completely cable free bike. That said, I really can't wait until SRAM's patented derailleur cage hold and release mechanism is finally up for Shimano and others to put it on their stuff. That and their 1 piece XD cassette were a hard thing to walk away from for Shimano's better shifting and gearing 12 spd. No regrets though.

1/26/2021 9:18am Still amazed at him when he managed to snap his bike in two pieces at MSA mid track a few feet from where I was standing. He just managed to walk away from it unscathed and so calm like just another day at the office. Crazy! Hope he has another great season this year.

1/24/2021 4:27am I have an Optic too. Love it. The Spur isn’t quite as capable, but is more efficient. They’re both great, but I wouldn’t want an Optic if I planned on racing beyond beer league. Forbidden Druid vs. Norco Optic would be a tougher debate for me. I already reviewed the Druid and loved it too... but then you’re pushing to to a new category of bike entirely.

1/24/2021 4:27am I've been riding the new Stumpy that's 140/130 - I have gotten approximately 400 miles on it at this point. I built it with a Pike Ultimate, full GX, Codes, alloy bars, DHF/DHR MaxxGrip, and a EX511 wheelset. It weighs in at 30.16lbs with pedals. That's exactly 7lbs lighter than my other bike which is an Enduro with a 38 up front. I live in the Seattle area and, for all but the gnarliest of rides, it's been my bike of choice. Provided you're not a weight weenie, I think you can spec these shorter travel bikes and have the...

1/24/2021 4:24am I think there is value to swapping tires to minimize differences, but it doesn't really suit what we're trying to do for these comparisons. The whole world knows that the DHF is great, so another review confirming that isn't really pushing the industry forward in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised by the Dissector / Rekon combination on the Spur. I'd run that setup again for sure.

1/22/2021 5:34am I know that Downcountry and short travel slack bikes are all the rage these days but let me add my point of view. I've ridden a few of these bikes and they are indeed a lot of fun and feeling light and spirited on climbs is great. I just ran into problems when pointing them downhill. They give you all the confidence and if you forget that you actually don't have that much travel nor proper burly components, the bike gets hammered really fast. Just a few boosts off of small trailside lips with landing cased into gnar and you...

1/22/2021 5:34am And that is why I opted for the Norco Optic with full XTR for my short travel bike, which cost less than both of these bikes. Only about 1 kg heavier than them and that's including oneup flat pedals, ARC30 Al wheelset, DD rear w/DH hucknorris insert, EXO+ front w/reg hucknorris insert, oh and a oneup bashguide, although it's only on by the two tabs provided on the optic (still don't understand their logic on that one!). Plus, I like having the aluminum stays for the rock abuse new england trails have to offer. I think a comparison of the...
