This is 100% the thing I feel is the biggest problem with e-bikes right now. There is no long term plan for maintaining the motors and electronics yet, so a big chunk of my customers are in the "sell it once its out of warranty" plan of owning one. The current repair model of manufacturers is just throw a new motor at it until the warranty runs out, but then there isn't any real option for preventative maintenance before then, or repair once its out of warranty. I have very limited experience with e-bikes so far, but my takeaway has been that the range isn't where I want it to be. At least yet. I rode a Canyon Spectral On with the giant ass 900wh battery and went from fully charged to one bar remaining over the course of a 18 mile ride with about 3,500 feet of climbing in 2 hours. Trail conditions were slippy and I'm a big dude, but I was also toggling between modes and didn't use full power until the last gravel climb out. It was fun to ride, but for how...

I'd imagine Sean might take a nap. He has got to be the single hardest working human being I know. The # of different projects he has going on that have NOTHING to do with each other is mind boggling. I don't even see how Gwin can make it work if Sean isn't the General Manager/Diesel Technician/Trail Boss/Liason/Equipment Operator/Event Operations/Mapping/Accounting/Marketing/Bike Shop Mechanic. What more can they upgrade it with? It’s already the lightest of the superenduro forks (not sure about the Intend models, but they are boutique), it works incredibly well (don’t mind the reviews where they find problems with the performance - those were examples of the first batches). The only way i can see them improve it is the way of Formula and MRP, with the Selva and the Bartlet - make it a lightweight double-crown fork with a 15mm thru-acle and 190mm travel.

Honestly, my Evil Calling is just getting long in the tooth. I would like a more modern STA for climbing and perhaps 29" wheels. Otherwise I don't have much desire to update my 5 year old bike. Another pain point. Prices for a new complete bike are absurd. I (personally) simply don't want to drop 7000€ to get a complete bike with GX or slx drivetrain. As a consumer, its much more cost effective for me to buy a frame from RAAW, privateer, or Crossworx, and build it up from parts purchased at discount from an online parts retailer.

I got bids on a couple of bikes that were such a joke. Insulting really. They are the equivalent of a used car dealership. Really taking advantage of the poor folks who are in such a hurry that they fail to see the difference in what money ends up in their pockets by generating a Craigslist, ebay and/or pinkbike ad.

do people really look at this and think "yea that looks great"? might just be me but the colors don't mesh well, all the gold shit is gaudy as fuck and the grey (?) fork looks weirdly out of place
