I don't think that works as well on this site. As for components, Fox, Renthal, TRP (brakes at least), Kenda, Kogel are all top notch.E13 seems to be hit and miss, I'll give you that one.

It is a multilink URT rather than an iDrive (and what Mongoose called their version of it), which has the BB decoupled from the chainstay/swingarm. The guy has never ridden the design and filed a patent for a new iteration of a horrible idea.

Big point on YT (in my measly two cents) is that the pretty much made their name in a big way DIRECTLY from World Cup racing, specifically DH. Love him or hate him, Aaron Gwin made their name big time in the market outside a relatively small Euro market and the DJ crowd. The have been slowly fading from that exposure as well as having warranty and stock /deliver issues well before the COVID mess. Curious to see how this plays out.

I know the rumor of Martin to Orbea is the leading candidate. However, what about Martin to Atherton?? He seems to have really got on well with them at GT Factory. Gee and Rachel are both in the twilight of their racing careers (not saying either are done, but also not saying I would expect a whole lot from either ever again). They have Millie and Charlie so Martin heading up a young guns team coached by Dan/Gee/Rachel would be RAD! Anytime I see a ''designed in California'' it's a definite NO from me. I guarantee this wouldn't last more than a few months where I live (northern Britain's climate is a lot different that the Cali climate and our winters are a lot harsher).

I found this strangely relatable for mountain bike content. More than anything it comes across like a genuine attempt to help less experienced riders make a few simple decisions and arrive at a better outcome for themselves. So it came across to me a lot like the 5-10 minute demonstrations I do to introduce students to new lab equipment, or to ask them to think about more familiar equipment in a new way. I don't know if it gets engagement or changes people's behavior or moves product better or worse than all the other mtb marketing using tropes from beer...

32lbs for an alloy hardtail is ridiculous. I own two steel hardcore hardtails and there both under 29lbs. One of my hardtails is ridiculously expensive (£6k build, 26lbs) but the other is just bog-standard and weighs 29lbs.

Agree with Spomer on this. In the same way that mud spikes are known to squirm on rocks and roots, Magic Mary’s can squirm and fold on a super hard-packed trail, especially if you’re hitting a berm, steep lip, or banked lip with additional g-forces. It’s the opposite of traction- it’s super sketchy. It feels vague and weird, like taking 10 psi out of your tires.
