Glad to see Stark at least got a medal. I'm still slightly confused at what REAL mtb is to the judges or anyone else. Obviously street isn't the 'real' place where MTB edits take place. But crafting courses that look like Crankworx or Rampage lines doesn't quite feel real either. I feel like Brage really set the standard of what real mtb is by having very hand crafted but still natural lines using natural terrain and wood and stuff. Mostly one hitters. But still some fun and cool lines. And in that sense I think Macduff had the most Brage-esque...

12/12/2023 3:06pm Assuming the axle to crown is only about an inch difference at most, we're looking at quite a small change in bb height, definitely not enough to ruin your ride. Playing around with your suspension would make a more noticeable difference.

12/12/2023 2:39pm Will slightly alter the geo of your bike. Not a huge deal in my opinion. On a DH bike having a slightly slacker ht and higher bb isn't going to kill you.

I got into DH in 2005 and everyone said ride a size down compared to your "XC" bike. Short bikes were more "flickable' and for better "handling" and long bikes were shunned. Lots of OTB and lots banging my knees on the bars. Ref photo of me at 6

I have Giro's Switchblade and ride without the chin bar a lot. I ride either when it's cool as it's a bit warmer than my half helmet (not sure this one would be) or just when I'm going to be riding some tech, but for which putting on the full face seems like overkill. If I only had one, i'd probably have the Proframe, but if I had an infinite helmet budget, I'd like both.

A dual crown fork typically has a shorter axle to crown measurement than a single crown (of the same travel), so I think 180 dual crown might keep geometry nice and a little more precise. Only drawback I see with the dual crown is weight, or turning tight, both of which are 100% irrelevant in this application.
