Word. Red Bull is exploiting the athletes, and milking the workers and spectators to the last drop. No excuses for such a large corporation that can afford so much more.

If Red Bull and other companies did not receive a financial gain from the athletes beyond what they receive from any of their consumers, then I would agree with your sentiment. However, while these athletes love what they do, and would likely push the boundaries regardless of Rampage, I do not believe that is a good reason to allow a company to exploit the athletes. They and the diggers are still providing a major financial benefit to the sponsors and organizers of Rampage, and it is unjust to withhold adequate compensation and safety precautions. I agree with a lot being said here, but also have to consider the bigger picture. Any MTB event (EWS, Megavalache, Mt Hell) I've entered in Europe it is mandatory to have full health insurance covering DH MTB competition (the most expensive kind) in France you must also sometimes produce a current medical certificate clearing you for the event. No ifs or buts. So I dont think Red Bull need to have medical coverage for individuals. Liability insurance yes for any things that can go wrong that they have direct control over. I attended Rampage this year. From every aspect you could tell that Red Bull was putting their own interests first. As a worker, a spectator, and from talking to the riders and team support, there were complaints from every end. Aside from the utter chaos of the disorganization, the priorities seemed backwards. Riders should always be first, then workers, then spectators. Red Bull seemed to only care about media coverage. I was working a security position up on the ridge. Zink had the gnarliest line and killer moves. Basically doubled up on his last years 2nd place run. Yet he didn't even make podium? I think free ride should be more about gnarly lines than tricks off booters. #reachforthesky

I feel like a lot of the riders are focused on throwing tricks off some of the natural features. I think a flip off a natural drop would get more points than a flip variation off the booter.
