12/26/2019 1:32pm I've commented on other threads extensively about how much I enjoy my 2016 Foes Mixer. 160mm DVO diamond up front, 152mm travel DVO rear. The GEO is slightly dated, but even that I've not demo ridden a bike I've liked better. 3 years ago, having never ridden a mixed wheel bike, and coming from the 26" world..... Id say it...

This was my mixed wheel bike, Turner DHR with 27.5F/26R. Pretty sure a bike like the new Yeti SB165 with a 29F would be my ultimate trail bike.

i 69'd / mulleted / mixer'd / 279'd / 97.5'd a canyon spectral for our crankworx whistler trip just to see what it would be like. originally 27.5 front and rear with 160mm fork and bars pretty high, i put a 29er fork with 150mm travel and was able to keep bar height the same. head angle changed (IIRC it went to 64.5) and bb went up a bit, but i didn't measure that. assegai DH tire up front, DHR II exo (stock tire) out back. i had a BLAST on it riding lifts at whistler. riding natural black...

22 to 28psi depending on tire and trail. Been running 2.35 to 2.5 tires on 30mm Arc rims with brass nipples and 32 DT comp double butted spokes last 3 years. Only had to true the wheels twice in that time, but the last 3 months the rear loosened up and felt off so i pulled it to rebuild. But the same was true for me 10 years ago on 26” mavic 819’s.

I’ve never understood how riders destroy wheels so fast. I’m 215 to 230, ride hard, rocky terrain, and will get 3 years out of a trail/enduro level alloy wheel set before seeing any signs of a wheel loosening up and stressing the spokes beyond the threshold of its useful life. I build my own and that’s always been super durable. The only wheels I’ve popped spokes on were factory build 26” DH wheels.

Everything DVO works out of the box. Everything FOX has a 100 upgrades and 100's of after market tuning options to get them working good.
