Still a strong season for what he dealt with. His val di sole win is still one of my favorite runs of the past 5-6 years, would love to see him smash a few more wins, maybe eye the overall. Good luck mate!

I laughed when I saw the clips of him surfing after saying he's "so bad at it." Epstein Barr can be rough! Nice work getting back out there.

Bristol is the best city in the UK. I'd move back there in a heartbeat if an opportunity came up. Windhill is not in Bristol though. Not anywhere near it. Not even the same county. As good as it is there are dozens of places I'd ride that are actually in Bristol, before driving for an hour.

The Vojo article in French is actually a Belgian publication, it is the only article I have seen in French or English and is very much a response to the social media post and comments underneath, no additional information is provided. The French racing forums, in which a number of French team managers and media people participate, have absolutely no comment or accusation. All the accusations have been on insta or in this thread. Pretty miserable news, hope the truth officially comes out so we can move on.

Exactly this, if the authorities are involved for a serious crime as this is, would he be even allowed to leave the country? Because right now it seems like there are only biking consequences and its really weird.

This topic has been talked about by people in the sector for some time (since the departure of commencal), it was a good move by Canyon to step away. I was surprised that Canyon hired him with these allegations. If they turn out to be true, it's very bad for the brands he still represents.

But wouldn't reporting on Thibaut getting a contract after an alleged sexual assault be fighting the whole boys' club image they are trying to ditch? Thibaut getting a ride among those rumors certainly reeks of a boys' club...

if the accusations are true, the end of his racing career is gonna be pretty low on the list of things he should be worried about

I have some industry intel and the IG comments might not be far off. This could be a very dark day for the sport, let's hope more info on the reason for the split gets public. Being silent here only gives the rumors more weight and space to grow.

The Mezzer weighs the same as the Fox 36, with the rigidity of the F38. That's what I'd go with.

I really don't think a 6.3mm decrease in seal circumference is going to be a game changer for you, or even noticeable, but you're right that the 36 is lighter. I think there are riders for whom the increased flex of a smaller fork can be good. Probably riders under 150 pounds/68 kg. I'm not one of them, and I'm so glad the bigger forks are available. It was an immediately noticeable effect for me and an instant upgrade as a big tall guy with heavy tires and big brake rotors. If you're a lighter rider and bike weight is...

As everybody wants downhill to be like F1, why not have 20+ races across all continents? Only 12-15 go into the final ranking, meaning less well off teams can decide to skip single rounds in far away places and still be competitive. That way, larger teams can also have throw away results, which should help with experimenting with equipment and such. Only the final race is mandatory to attend and serves as a tie-breaker if needed. Qualifying + Finals, no Semi BS. Include diversity in locations and race types, e.g. throw in some of the urban races, a high-speed race...

- 12 rounds - 60 rider final - 25 for women, no semi final bullshit. Qualify for the big show and send it! - One race in Each continent minimum, with intention to run 2 rounds at each. No Antartica aint getting a round so shut up. - Logistics and financials, sounds like a you problem. This is theoretical. Imagine this.... Thredbo Queenstown Brazil Chile South Africa China Mt Fuji Europe for 3 rounds Whistler Snowshoe Prestige Worldwide PTY LTD.

Whelp, I just got a legal notice that my key vendor is insolvent and in collections. I lucked out as I was getting close to placing an order with a hefty deposit. I run a very small biz in the MTB technical apparel space, 1000 unit orders are the norm. Time to either lawyer up or find a new factory. I suspect I'm not the only one who will be dealing with a messy supply chain this year.

On the Shimano not ramping up thing: Very few brands and people in the bike world are manufacturers/have experience working in manufacturing. I don't think many decision makers from the brands wanting Shimano to ramp up understand the difficulty of increasing production volume outside of very few instances. There's the large time and cost investment of hiring, training, and supervising new people to operate existing machinery on a new overnight, or weekend, shift in a factory environment where you can die if you're not aware enough of your surroundings. Once you maximize the operating time of your existing machinery and...

Fair. If you read between the lines what I was suggesting when I wrote "everyone" (which was hyperbole) was to say the "rule" in the industry was forecasts were wrong. Most got it wrong, with Shimano being one of the only examples of a company getting it right ("the exception") ...but then again, comparing Shimano to Trek is not totally fair. Shimano has two key tailwinds in this situation. 1) They are a more upstream company. This means they likely have less "finished goods" style inputs (in the form of components) and more "raw materials" style inputs (literal materials they...
