I spent a lot of time combing over the rule book changes till late last night. I'll run down the list from my notes: Rules that apply to all UCI events, not just the World Cup-- 4.1.001 Enduro is no longer abbreviated END, it is now EDR Dumb name tbh 4.1.007 bis "Enduro events are open to riders aged 17 or over. No separate results MUST be submitted for the juniors, under 23, or elite categories" It is not a requirement for UCI EDR events to list results separately by age group, I find that noteworthy but expect events to...

This was very helpful for learning the difference between the Ebike and Pro pads. I have been very underwhelmed by my 220mm rotored Code RSC brakes and will be putting Pro pads on to hopefully give me the bite that I crave and have yet to find since my 2010 Shimano Saint brakes. I wish brake manufacturers would build less "modulation" into their products and allow my fingers to pull softly or slightly less softly to engage the brakes hard instead of needing to squeeze firmly or super firmly for the same effect. Unless I'm lightly dragging to scrub speed...

wow so that's it? Looked like the wind was dying down around 3:30mst...I swear I've seen dudes hit their runs in considerably more winded conditions...but who am I to know any better. Tyle McCaul was on a 1st place run...was most excited to see him trim the fat on that second run and fucking STOMP Gee's gap... This was a RAW as fuck Rampage course wise...Zink was also potentially going to take a top three had he completed a second run (favorite rider). Why can't they just run this event tomorrow morning, better yet why the FUCK didn't they start...

This a friendly reminder that there's a lot of horrible external cable routing, too. I've had noisy and rattly hoses and housing, I've had a rock chop my downtube-routed external brakeline in half on a road trip ($70 for a replacement Shimano hose from an LBS, ouch), I've had crazy rubbing and paint wear from cables, I've had below the BB routing (booooo), I've had a bird's nest of cables at the headtube, and I've had 10 foot long derailleur housing because the cable is seemingly routed on every tube of the frame before it arrives at the rear derailleur...

Fully external routing: fine. Internal routing, guided: fine. Internal routing, unguided, with large entrance and exit ports: also generally fine. Internal routing, unguided, with small entrance and exit ports: not fine. Through the headset: fuck all the way off.

For some reason the factory sent the Zeb out with the steerer tube cut so only 20mm of spacer will go under the stem, 40mm stem 5 degree rise, and 40mm bars. I have rolled the bars forward...

What's the point of the high and low settings being so incredibly close? 3mm bb change and .3 degree HA change doesn't seem like a noticeable enough difference to bother including the feature. I really like the stack and CS sizes on the XXL being built for XXL riders. Aside from the pricing I am quite intrigued in this bike.

It doesn't look too bad to me. If a racer is worried about sliding off track there he can always check up a bit, either way a crash would be on him and not the turn.

The split times are all funky with who is green and which position they were at the time. Looks like Finn was super speed to split 2. Also interesting to see how far off the Juniors are this time compared to TTs in the past.

7/28/2022 11:46am The course in Val di Sole is very much worth seeing in person, more so than the Les Gets track. I would also venture to say the crowds will be smaller which is a bonus in my eyes but your views might differ.

Is it an engineering challenge to pull off mucho stack for XL and higher sizes? I'm 6"1" and running 30mm of spaces and a 35mm rise bar on a bike with same stack as this ones XL (642).
