LOL fake news. they had a note about smoke from local fires and air quality being the reason for the adjustment for more lifts and less climbing i guess?

Now you have used the metallic pads, what are your thoughts? Are they a lot more powerful than with the organic?

They say there are "4200m of climbing (with a little help from lifts)", but really its ~1300m of climbing and a lot of chairlift uphill. Fake news! The runs all look like a lot of fun, hopefully the weather stays pleasant.

These are so much better than any other DH media out there. It's like being at the race. I know the six minute version is "more boring" than the shorter, more intense Vital RAW of the past, but getting to see rider after rider trying the same section gives a much more accurate representation of what downhill racing is. It's methodical, it's repetitive, it's intellectual, and yeah, it's kind of boring when you're watching trackside. Hell, it's actually kind of boring when you're racing. A lot of the time is spent sitting and waiting, or talking, or hiking. DOWNHILL FOREVER

This is a great article, thanks for this! I have been using both Cush Core and Huck Norris. The Cush Core seems to be holding up well so far but I have not removed the tires yet for an inspection, these are on my DH bike. On my trail bike I wanted the lighter set up so I opted for the Huck Norris. This option seemed great at first, definitely allowed lower pressures and deadened hard hits a bit. But, when things got serious these things did not hold up and hits got harsh again. Upon removal of Huck Norris I...

These seem like good ideas, but at that price I need to know they will last for at least a solid season of aggressive trail or DH riding. Did you guys experience any failures (tearing, cracks, etc.) with the inserts or signs that they may fail in in the next few months?

The UCI has a rule that states a bicycle must have same size wheels. So they could run a 79 incher, but not a 29" front 27.5" rear. A UCI representative had an interview on here or Dirt saying they may look into changing the equal size wheel rule starting 2018. I'm interested to try anything, 29, 79, 69, even a 24 front 29 rear, why not!
