let's hope weather holds for saturday. not sure how accurate the google summary is, but it looks like it could be pulled off! it's always so hit-and-miss, micro climate-y there. w*** (doing it for you, simcik) and precip forecasts below. STOKED for women's round today!
I think Hannah should've taken it, but obviously all the runs were great,, asides from that great event. The lines were impressive, definitely a few surprises, plus no kids begging for every piece of a riders kit at the top of their lungs. Women's Rampage has the right vibes, only hiccup I saw was the drone dusting some of the riders out before they hit a drop
I think the judges probably got it right today. That said, I found Hannah to be more fun to watch. She was riding so fast, and the way she blended control with controlled chaos was super enjoyable.
Overall, it was an excellent event. Here's hoping the mens' goes just as well and that nobody dies.
I watched as much of today's event live as I could swing while balancing a reasonable volume of work. However, after last year, I think I'll opt to watch the mens' event on replay just in case.
Perusing the riders bike checks I noticed mikayla parton is running a 29" front wheel on her demo. Has anyone ever done this in either field? I don't think so?
I really enjoyed the women's event. I'm not sure if I will watch the men's. Like slope style events its so far out there, combined with the huge crashes.

I preferred HB's run to Robin's, but I think they got the podium right. HB went bigger and had a more interesting line, but Robin has more tricks in the bag. There was zero doubt it was between those two, though. If Kirstin can add some flips or spins to her run, she'll be a serious contender, though.
Matt Jones BTS goods. extremely informative and insightful, not to mention chilling. sounds like the only bonus of weather could be clouds in the morning to prevent blinding sun in riders' faces.
I'd push back on that, it was still a 2:40 broadcast. The men might break 4 hours again. Watching with the directors cut remains the move.
Yes watching a highlights reel or the condensed version will always be shorter. But for a live event, it was enjoyable. Last week's F1 race was nearly 6 hours long. You can watch a 30 minute highlight of the race. Just depends upon what sort of experience you want to have watching it.
4 hours on a Saturday might be tough to make happen for some. But 2:40 while it was on my third monitor while at work on a Thursday didn't leave me anything to complain about.

This video is probably the best one that conveys the size and danger of the features.
The defending champ is Rampage ready:
I hyped to see lemoine ride because he just makes riding look so good, but I'm mega hyped to see kade, he hits stuff like it owes him money

Live broadcast link, it's almost go time!
Gutted Natasha is out. Anyone seen any updates on what happened or how she is?
Heard she didn't make the canyon gap. Helicoptered out.
The pace of the live broadcast is really impressive. The women have absolutely crushed it. Holy cow, what a contest.
Fantastic Rampage
A few hiccups in the judging but pretty minor this year. Overall great event and minimal accidents for the women's side.
YES Robin! So stoked to see her get a 3rd - that was close with Hannah this year!
HB should be racing WC's. The level of riding is super high!

Well, we barely have time to catch our breath after watching the women throw down - tomorrow we go again with the men, fingers crossed!
Here's Reed ticking off features on his line, getting ready for the big show:
Tomas Lemoine, you crazy Frenchy you!
Lil' deep for Lil' Moine...

Jaxson Riddle is lighting it up right now! Pure FMX style on tap.
A little too much sauce on the big canyon gap...so sendy!
Another angle of Jaxson going deep on his canyon gap:
