Again in the Women Elite race with those comments - how is the producer not getting in his ear about that? I didn’t think we could take a step back in the commentating but so far this broadcast has a lot of room for improvement.

Dude they’re not there. The commentary team for Warner Bros Discovery is not on site! They’re not fucking there! MB just said he can hear how windy it is on the feed.

I’m more clued in than these dudes.

How embarrassing.

Whoever suggested "ask the riders what to expect from them this season" needs to be canned. Quite possibly the worst and most pointless question one can conceive to ask an athlete. Literally only one answer. Provides NOTHING to anyone, the athlete, the production, the audience. In between that and the commentating (not being there?) I can't believe it's somehow gotten worse. I'll take Carlsons ghoulies at this point...

Anyone else notice Reese pedaling an impossibly low gear after he finished the race? Did his gearbox spaz out or drop his belt?

Actually mind boggling they're still banging on about the step down? Was there ever discussion of re-opening it? How is there no one in the 'truck' saying it? Like Carlson... They keep bringing up things from Carlson on track despite him not having a hot mic.

Such a good race, stoked for Asa & Neko. What a win for FW. Gutted for Amaury to throw it away in sight of the finish line.

Healing vibes to Lou Ferguson who took a nasty fall during the first training session. She's in hospital with broken ribs and "stable vertebrae fractures". It's extra unfortunate that the jump in question was actually closed for racing later. Message from the team below:

------------------------

"During the opening practice session, Lou suffered a heavy crash on the big jump at the top of the track. After being one of the first riders to attempt the feature, Lou realised she lacked the necessary speed on the approach. She cased the landing and was bucked, resulting in a high-impact fall.

True to form, Lou is reportedly in good spirits and more concerned about the team’s performance and morale than her own recovery. The team wishes her a focused and steady rehabilitation.

Heal up, Lou."

Just curious on the hardtail guy debate why more people are not up in arms over the Indonesian champ?  Dude seems cool as hell, seem happier than anyone else to be there, BUT lets be real now the guy can only use one finger to brake and his pinkie and thumb to hold on on one hand and cant brake on the other hand.   As much as he is an inspiration it also seems just as if not more dangerous then HT guy.

I’ve raced him a few times at crankworx and ixs events, dude is genuinely fast

Nice work out there, lads. Hats off.

A legend was born today. Top marks to the cameraman and broadcast crew for zooming in on that so frequently.

Might have to buy a Commencal now.

I’m not sure where I heard it but apparently Gwin and Bruni were not even doing that jump in practice. Not sure if that’s true but it would be a case of “can’t beat experience”. Enough years on the WC circuit to know that the jump would either have to change or be removed from the track so they never risked anything on it. Shame it wasn’t closed sooner, especially knowing it was placed near one of the most windy sections.

Kolb was skipping it too. It was in one of his POVs

Honestly with how long it took to put info I feared much worse. Heal up Lou.

Maybe I missed it, but watching the race I had no idea the jump was apparently closed. I thought people just figured out the b line was faster/better/more reliable?

That said, what is the idea behind b lines? Like I assume that the purpose of a b line differs depending on where on the course it is. For instance you need b line go-around for gap jumps because if someone makes a mistake leading into the jump and doesn’t have enough speed, they need a reasonable way to continue, right?

Is the B line always supposed to be slower? If so, by how much? Why was the b line on the big piste gap jump an outside sweeper and not like an inside chicane? It would seem to me that doing like an inside chicane would be tunable (move the cones to make it slower or faster) and have WAY better visibility and safety than the outside sweeper where a rider coming down literally can’t see another rider who is on the b line behind the jump. However an inside chicane line would have 100% visibility for both riders all the time.

16883 0.png?VersionId=SDau3nrFf9JvXZ9z1U1zkUAfNq9VD3VAsa with the marginal aero gain fabric on the jersey. Is this the first time it's been seen on a DH jersey?? These guys wear a lot of clothing (more than roadies) that's getting ever tighter, so maybe there's a lot of marginal gains to pick up on the face fabric.

It seems like Neko and Aaron might be busy this season, but if they can find an English speaker who is as experienced, who actually knows the racers' stories, the broadcast would be sooooo much better.

The fox skinsuit has been around for a few seasons. Syndicate and some Orbea riders also wear it

I came here to share the delight of my inner twelve year old as a result of the gratuitous zoom in on male genitals for EVERY SINGLE RIDER. Has there ever been a more high profile dick drawing broadcast around the world ? Probably , but good on ya lads

Also , I beat Asa once… to the top of a hill on our local paved river trail in Durango …. Because I was on my townie e bike and he was chatting with a friend on regular bike . Take the wins you can get gents

Not to ruin the fun, but every race they have one of those shots where they zoom in on a sponsor looking as the rider passes by. That was probably just that guys job, and someone chose the right sign to draw on.

During the Women’s Race I thought surely someone with a walkie and a microfiber would be sent to destroy the Commencal Cock Medallion.
