Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,

EdBull Media House better not get “decent” editing!
500 a round seems like enough money for some teams to hire someone already with access versus hiring their own person. I could see why someone with access and contracts would like the change regardless if that is not how they got the opportunity to cover the sport and start their career. But I don’t see how it’s serving a real purpose other than to make more money and do less work as an organizer. Which seems to be the main priority for wbd and the few brands/people who are onboard with the changes. Nobody already at the top is usually pushing to increase competition or make their lives harder. Regardless of how they themselves got there.
Having attended several world cups and watched way way too much content I’ve never seen so many photographers it seemed like a problem. And yeah I can see why supercross would charge good money for you to be on the stadium floor at an event. Can’t say I can say the same for World Cup dh where b zones are hardly sacred and there is plenty of space for everyone on practice days.
I heard a rumour we were gonna crowd fund Vital’s World Cup Media fee for 2026!!!
Also heard a rumour Vital was gonna get a private jet so Lawlor & jackiericecakes could do it up right!!!
Ed just posted an update on his future on IG. Basically doing same shit with the exception of racing full time it sounds
I'm pretty certain 3000 bucks could not be crowdfunded from this site.
60 people contributing 50 bucks wouldn't be possible considering the amount of crying done about TV subscription fees
it's not $500 per team... the 25 UCI series teams don't pay this. and they all have media teams at each round, some with as many as 5 photo, video, social media people. it's not 20 teams sharing the same 5 people, or a small group with access controlling all the content as you're claiming
there's no charge for any team, rider, etc to shoot photos. and outside the series teams there's a fee for video because of TV and broadcast rights. anyone saying they lost their team job over that fee likely wasnt getting paid in the first place, and it wouldn't be one of the top 25 teams either way since they don't even have to pay it
if you have an editorial assignment or team credentials you can shoot ... simple really
there's no gate keeping. and there's always new folks coming and going each year
but y'all enjoy your drama the you can heard from a friend of a friend's sister's cousin who knew a guy that said something about ...
To be fair, that is what most of the winter activity on here is based off of. And my friends sisters cousin friend might have gotten 2012 and a few Huffy related team rumors wrong, but something's going to stick.
Here's hoping Ed teams up with Laurie and Jack and we get something really interesting me.
It’s not really drama. It’s just a rumour heard from a pretty viable source and if it’s not true then the rumour was wrong.
That’s why it is a rumour not fact.
Any way, since the silly season is almost over, I look forward to the 2027 team fact only (with reference notes) thread.
One of the cooler things I’ve seen at a World Cup is Sven giving tips to one of those “locals” who clearly looked up to him. Even told him something like I’ll keep my eye out for ya at msa. I guess I just like the sport that’s encouraging folk to participate rather than talk about their credentials. As well as the sport where a racer could participate until they decided to quit or that success came. No I don’t think there’s 5 people at the top. But i do think 500 is a lot of money for some people and organizations. I don’t really care how much people are getting paid or paying. And while it’s cool that I can drive 20-minutes and watch supercross at a stadium with 20,000 fans for 30 bucks. And for another 30 get a chance to wave at a pro and get a kid an autograph. I’d like mountain biking to remain a lot more “unprofessional” than that environment.
How about some actual rumors, when I was at Windrock I heard Grice was signing for a brand that somehow only has rider first names starting with A's.
idk ridemonkey users managed to scrape together about that much to buy itself out before their former corporate overlords were gonna pull the plug.
i for one would pony up that amount, for me at least it's a far easier sell knowing my money would go to a proper mtb business rather than some international media conglomerate
Brendog no longer on Fox

Seems like Brage has found a frame sponsor. Teaser on his IG.
Brage posted a teaser of his new bike sponsor. Can anyone make out what this is? Silver, tapered headtube, black linkage? If it wasn’t a tapered headtube, I’d almost have my hopes up for RAAW
He’s digging it up in a forest. Forestal bikes would be my closest guess.
The first bike that came to mind was a Haro... looks like a Greer Alloy or a Daley Alloy... wild guess though
Ari.
We crowd funded MADHRA & held a 3 year long 9 venue East Coast downhill race series through Ridemonkey. People were dying to be part of something & the only way to accomplish it was to form a club. We raised a crazy amount of money & the club ran all the races. The "club" was all the people who donated. Man, that was awesome back when. My last MADHRA t-shirt is slowly dying. Did we ever get you one?
Carson Storch to Zink...
Chainstay basically aligned with top tube, round looking cable entry on the down tube. Closest I could find is a Trek Sesh
He was hooked up by a friend with a frame company and not a paying sponsorship deal. The money is coming from the fact that since he doesn’t have an official sponsor he can plaster the frame with Kubota advertising.
He even says he is going to try other bikes later in the year.
Agreed, and it looks painted white, not silver.
Of all the options out there, I think signing with Trek would maybe be the least surprising. And the possibility is huge for some massive, crazy projects with backing from both Red Bull and Trek.
Also, imagine what kind of insane, viking/black metal themed paint jobs he'll get on his bikes from the Trek custom paint shop.
I don't love Trek, but am here for Brage getting paid and opportunities that only come from big sponsors.
Brage gets (presumably) relatively big money, we get content. Brage x Brandon x Kade x Emil edit would be monumental, as are most things from those riders individually.
Because the cranks/chainring are covered I thought RF/Fox. If Rockshox/Sram then its probably an Ochain
Honestly, very cool to see Kabota putting in some effort though. I know they're useful trail building, but beyond that, its still pretty outside the industry. Big fan of seeing that. Matt Mcduff needs a tractor sponsor now.
You guys have such a hard on for 'Brage'. Not to be disrespectful, I don't even know who he is 😇
I can't tell if you're trolling or not, but this seems like a good reason to remind everyone why we love Brage and want good things for him:
Kubota is pretty involved in trail building like you said, even "sponsoring" trail building companies themselves. As a company that does a lot of business with regular dudes who own tractors they obviously think there will be some crossover sales from the sponsorships which is cool and I'm sure they want pro trail builders to continue using their equipment as well. Isn't Gwin or all of frameworks also sponsored by Kubota? And Windrock and Rock Creek? Locally in Michigan I think they sponsor the Copper Harbor Trail Club and the Noqumenon trail system. Pretty cool for a tractor company.
Don’t know about anybody else, but it’d be worth it to me to spend $5/round ($50), to have Lawlor’s content at every race.
