Sorry no, I'm a fan also and I'm not American.
Same. Big Dak guy, not American.
Another Dak fan, also not American.
I realize you're just trying to be a dick or french or both, but that's not at all the sentiment to anyone paying attention to World Cup downhill. Riders, fans and the media have been nothing but positive about him coming back this year.
He liked a picture of my dog on IG so he gets some love from this Scottish guy
Have you seen the dude throw flatties on his warm up laps? You hate Dak you hate yourself. Gimme a break, he’s a star of the sport.
Big Dak fan. Not an American.
I cheer for the Canadians because that's where I'm from. Beyond that I'm in it for the stories and the personalities. Dak is definately both of those
3 riders I cheered for most are ratboy, Troy, and Dak. International racing is fun!
so much wrong with your statement! i hate (current) america but love dak
I root for Dak more than anyone in the field. Not because he is American. I like his story. Getting into the sport later in life. Grinding as a privateer. Coming from a humble background and a part of the world far from any DH trails. And then, sort of like Benoit, just improving year after year to the point that he was one slippery turn from winning the rainbow stripes. Now after a massive injury he got back to 4th place on 1.5 legs. Insane.
I like his style too, sneaky smooth and smart racecraft. At MSA I thought he looked super in control in the rock garden and when his splits dropped as being so fast I was like, wtf, how?! Other people going fast looked like they were on the edge.
I like his outside the box thinking on bike setup, and how he has geeked so hard on that, and how he seems to hyperfocus on dimensions of technique I didn't even know people had come up with words to describe.
I'm not proud of my country right now, but I am proud of Dak.
Dak has the striped sleeve.I guess it‘s worth something. Mondraker is Markus Stöckl and I can see him having an interest in Dak with the stripes and the style and fanbase. It‘s not just results.
Finn - I hope he stays with the big S - could also join Tahnée. But it woud be a risky move if they are not together for the long term.
Pinky is a good rider but lacks fame and results. That could be a problem. But he is just outside rhe Top10 and couldbe there next year
But I do not see Vali at C-Les Orres. It‘s either a prominent position in a big factory team or nothing. I could see her at Canyon with Marine. But I have no clue of they get along well. Or Trek?
OO to Trek would be good.
Daprela deserves a spot on a real team. Unfortunatly his history is complicated, he needs a media manager
Jordan Williams could make a move. He is not enough in the spotlight. He was battling with Jackson and is there but nearly forgotten. But he is good and could become even better. I wish it to him.
Cube and Giant definitly need a top 5 guy! Vali to one of them?
Interesting times
Striped sleeve, as in National Champ? That's Pinky
I’m sorry, but Daprela doesn’t ‘deserve’ anything.
Racing at a World Cup level is a privilege not a right. It’s beyond just being fast, you also need to have certain aspects of professionalism and be enjoyable to be around.
Regardless of what actually happened in the ‘incident’, his continued behavior in the aftermath is uncouth and any team should be hesitant for that alone.
I was on board with the 'lets not pass judgement with no information' thing with Daprela...
Until he made that post where he was like 'the internet needs to stop bullying me because "everything has been handled"
Or whatever he said. Like... He worded it VERY specifically to never actually say 'i didnt do anything wrong' lol. The only thing he spoke definitively about is how the internet has to be nicer to him. At that point, even if completely innocent, he comes off like a whiny, entitled brat. To my knowledge he never went on the defensive of saying outright "these are false accusations and because of this we will be seeking defamation countersuits" or something. Maybe that's not common in France? I wouldn't know. But he never actually defended himself lol
current mondraker is a factory team for at least 2 seasons! MS (Markus Stöckl) WAS mondraker (till 2023), then intense (2024) and is now zerode.
Interesting view for shure. Especially in termes of Giant and Cube. Both teams have the money for topriders. Especially giant has quite a legacy to fulfill.
about Vali: the commencal bike is proved as one of the best. her trainer is deeply connected there, she is friend with the riders there. but who knows!
Daprela is a topten/ podium rider. He will get a team. Dak ist a guy with quite a lot sympathies at the moment and always was, but he ist old. not shure, which brand is searching for that profile in times when so many youngguns come up to play....
I'm not a fan because of their speed
I'm a fan because of their personality.
Some you meet in person and you become a fan based on that interaction alone
In todays world, if a rider was to have a bunch of KPI's to hit, winning a race is becoming a smaller part of the pie chart in my opinion. Especially when it's the same 2 dudes winning every round. Above was right, no one remembers who came 6th. They remember the infectious humor, or their style on track. A riders Value is more than a win now days.
I’m with you but unfortunately that’s not the way WBros is taking DH. Race results have become even more important. They said they were gonna tell stories but they’re not telling stories.
I think Vali Höll should star on Team RockShox United by RedBull Leogang Alliance. Different frame every week, the same as whomever’s in 2nd place. Continue roasting.
That’d be sick. She could do it.

Daprela did actually threaten legal action, queenstown_npc was making fun of Daprela on instagram and tagging him to which he threatened in DMs, to which of course he didn't care about and posted the DM and made fun of Daprela again 😂. Tried to find the post but think it was posted on an instagram story.
lol even worse. i had only meant against the apparent 'false accusation' or whatever. the initial incident. but ya surely theres nothing to threaten there since he clearly did SOMETHING wrong even if it wasnt as bad as many assume.
i also feel like nobody in the pits is on his side? like nobody has had the feeling 'hes such a good guy i cant imagine its true so i still talk to him' or something. not that i know anything for sure. its telling nobody is tempted to touch that with a ten foot pole when hes clearly still got the speed and podium-capable if not outright winning. that may speak volumes more than anything else.
Didn't Pinkbike have an article close to publication before they received a legal letter from his family? Or am I just making this all up in my head...
I do remember seeing a little something about it on pinkbike, can't seem to find anything on it at all now. Funny.
I'm British and I care about Dak. He makes it hard not to care because he's a funny and decent dude. Imagine NOT rooting for the guy.
south east asian dumbass tapping in here, also support dak so that's a load of horse shit
Well I hope some bike companies are browsing this forum and see how much global appeal Dak has amongst the downhill community
Even French are supporting Dak !!
