Saw vid where he had a fluke wreck on his thumb at Les Gets.

Don’t think so. Jakob Jewett got added to Team Canada as a last minute replacement so may have taken Bodhi’s spot

Goldstone yapping his way down the track filming his POV.

Interesting little section at the 2 minute mark of his video.   Course markers guiding people to the inside, but if you come too hot you’ll easily get a DQ.

Is it me or does the special paint jobs and jerseys make it really hard to tell who's who. Vital Raw is awesome though!

In Jackson's preview video there was a 3 second segment where I thought I heard him breathing heavy. I hope he's feeling okay!😄

Gonna be a treat to see Ronan throw himself down this track after doing 80 laps on it before Les Gets

Man, I can't tell who ANYONE is.
A steady stream of Fast AF Mofos in kits I can't recognize & random interpretations of country flags mixed with a kaleidoscope of patterns, bolts & stripes.

Feel like I'm trying to pick out a hat for my mom from a Greg Hardy catalogue.

Neon mud tampons are a "suggestion" at best come race day!!!!!

Upside of Worlds is NOBODY is going back around a pole.

probaby unpopular opinion, but i find champery to be fairly unexciting to watch due to the large number of berm/180 corners and lower speeds (which i know are mind-bogglingly fast for the actual track itself). the few sections where they're opened up for a moment and hitting stuff are great...that quick off-camber grass section into that left is rad. jackson's POV did a solid job of showing how insanely steep it is.

i doubt i could even get down that track in one piece on bike or feet, but from a not-in-person, side-of-the-track viewing standpoint, it's a miss for me. in person, i'd probably think it was unrideable by any human on a bike.

The thing is it's unridable in the wet without these berms, so now the track is not so technical, and mostly only steep. As you said they did a great job cutting some corners.

But if you want to have fun, I can suggest everybody tries to ride champery in the wet. I did it twice, and twice I had fear for most of it.

It's maybe not so great to watch, but it will make a great race I think.

Weather update: It is currently dumping rain. Glad I am not there attempting to walk or ride.

Shout out to Fabien Cousine, Ben Walker (New World Disorder fame) aka @buckoW  & all the track builders there & the Morgins tracks.
Never forget the walking digger & what these folks REALLY accomplished in that region!!!

How do you watch the raw vids?

1. Watch the bikes and how it behaves over features

2. Watch the rider and look at their body position over features

3. Frantically try to do both and end up with eye strain.

to clarify, i think the race will be great and the construction of the track was a massive achievement on that slope! visually, the lunacy of what the riders are actually doing doesn't seem to translate on screen. in the wet? FORGET IT lol

It's so awesome to be reminded of the work those guys did in 2006-ish to make Champerey happen.  Ben posting their pics on RideMonkey & maybe Littermag was amazing. We'd heard the rumours of the steepness, but him giving us the stories of the build hurdles & when the pic of them hanging off the digger into the abyss in Morgins dropped, it really brought home what they were accomplishing.

Feels like the story of how gnarly it is there should always be accompanied by the build pics.

I don’t think they did timed training

9/4/2025 4:38pm

If you go to the "race hub" for the Junior finals at https://www.uci.org/race-hub/2025-uci-mountain-bike-world-championships-dhi/344m6Ozs1toXAt5cTdC99K?tab=junior-dhi-finals0 there are two tabs, one of which is labeled Live Video (the other says Live Timing).

If you click on the Live Video thing it loads a page that has a screen similar to a Youtube screen (but it's not Youtube) with one of those arrow shaped buttons you click to play a video, and on the screen it says "Watch Live." I don't know if this means you can watch the Junior finals on the UCI web site. Does anyone know anything about this?

(You can do the same thing from the links on the race hub page for the women's and men's Finals, also. I have no idea if these things become active on the days of the finals. It would be great if they did.)

Jackson Goldstone vs the field, it’s a toss up to me. He says it in his track preview, this blue trail on its side is gonna require precision and balls. Nobody else has a higher sum of those two factors.

Ah yep forgot, the intricacies of worlds.

Question for the wider audience, which riders have been lapping Champery in the lead up to this weekend?

We know Ronan has done 80+ laps, the muc off team have also been doing a lot of work here throughout the season, any other notable riders/teams?

There's pump track rainbow stripes to be handed out as well, and it all goes down later today - watch it here live if it isn't geoblocked where you are. Although "where you are" doesn't necessarily have to be the same as your physical location these days...
