Part of me wants Jordan (on the current, non-proto demo) to do better than Loic or Finn. Not that the current demo is slow, Loic won worlds on it last year.

Some stuff will be free on Youtube, other stuff (like elite finals) you have to pay for. If you're in the US, GCN+ seems to be the best option. I paid for it for Nove Mesto (and to test it out) and it worked fine w/ no VPN.

Not sure I understand what you're asking here: "Don't really want to pay $8.99 to find out my VPN won't bounce out of that specific allowed country."

Last year and before, Worlds were blocked from streaming in the US thanks to odd contracts.  Since this is all new and all completely a blurry line that we have to figure out ourselves rather than "Channel 12 on DirecTV"...I figured I'd make sure it's not geo-restricted.

I pay for NORD-VPN for my biz, but they didn't have a bounce off server in a country RedBull was streaming.
I wound up using the built in VPN of Opera Browser because they had a server listed in I think...Germany?

Where is that posted? Pretty sure it’s private information?

Looked like racers really trying to make the most of practice.  Absolutely flat out.

Worlds is a completely different animal than World Cup w/ different media contracts because UCI...

Don't know who has the contract in the US this year but iirc in the past it's been NBC. Redbull has had (maybe still does?) rights in other countries which is how I've watched it (mostly because I wanted Warner's commentary).

GCN will not have world championship in USA.  They will have it for other countries like UK.  I didn’t check any others.

I don’t think redbull ever had rights outright but were allowed by rights holders to stream it.

Any word if he was riding after this crash? Saw him holding his wrist hopefully no injury that would be a bummer.

So how is it possible to watch this in the USA, GCN+ the only option?

Or maybe re-injured that bad thumb that kinda changed his entire career trajectory before?

All speculation until VitalNewsNetwork updates us fans!

Just read that Gwin is out with a broken arm/elbow and Luke Meier-Smith is also out with a broken collar bone! Heal up fellas!

Update from Gwin...definitely not the kind of news we wanted to hear! Heal up fast!

She’s a bit messy but perhaps that’ll clean up with time.

Must admit it’s nice to finally see juniors racing tho.

some strange things with their colour choices, why would you use green boxes for a slower split time?

commentary is still hard to listen to

Was weird for riders to just disappear and to never be heard from again even much the screen and commentators didn’t know it changed riders.

Not impressed with the commentators. At no point have they said what any one qualified until the last rider.  Cedric is too French and lil over the top when French riders were on track.  Yeah Claudio was like that for Swiss riders but it was fun because they were not a super successful nation in DH.

Overall felt like RB level images but in Freecaster package.

I enjoyed listening to Cedric, particularly when he got excited. Bummed that they couldn't get the graphics right though.

I think green was faster but commentators said they were up when they were down many many times.

That was a disaster.

Commentary was rough hopefully improves.  At the end they somehow had elite women’s qualifying mixed in their graphics.

cameras were good, switching occasionally a little off but you’d imagine that’s only going to get smoother with practice.

at the end of the day though I think the best model would be to have men’s and women’s finals free and the semi and jrs something to pay for.  They may sell a few less subscriptions but they’ll get infinitely more views.

Really nice to be able to watch the juniors. Overall the coverage was pretty good but they've definitely got a few things to iron out. Coverage was a bit choppy, saw a lot more of some runs than others. There were no updates on the running order so you didn't know when you were into the top 10 etc. Personally I found the on screen graphics pretty hard to follow. Maybe it was a mistake but seeing the rider number rather than their finish position when they cross the line doesn't make much sense to me? When they did show the final standings after the junior men there were a bunch of elite women's names on the list. But all together not bad and I'm sure they can sort out most of the issues.

Enjoyed Ric on the commentary but CG not so much.

Good racing from the Juniors, but the graphics were horrible. White numbers on a bright lime green background were unreadable from my phone, and they did not show where each rider finished at the end of their run. Commentary was off but who cares about that. Glad it's free but I hope the paid services are better. It's also very nice to see more and more junior women.
