Reading only, can't say anything or I'll lose my privileges.
Can you confirm that rebound will be red and compression will be blue? I think that's the most important info

I read this as "or I'll lose my fingers" at first...

Well, they were designed by the same dude 😂 Owen Pemberton the founder of forbidden used to be an engineer at Norco and the Norco hsp was his creation. There are also other similarities that Owen carried over to Forbidden. Norco is one of the very few brands that does size-specific chainstay lengths, as does Forbidden. Another interesting note, the 2024 Optic and Sight will reportedly have hsp w/idler(at least according our Norco rep at the shop).

I’m giving your prediction a bit more credence here, based on your knowledge of the fluid. Sir, I’m looking forward to a HP Optic, with similar to current, or maybe even more aggressive geo.

Here’s a picture Jesse took himself, while in line at whistler, and sent to me asking to post it so he didn’t get in trouble. No details beyond that, so do with it what you will. (Disclaimer: parts of this statement are false)

New XC bike from Specialized. Ridden to victory by Alex Wild at the Tahoe 100K last week.

I spot completely different rear triangle, especially NDS side.
Now has a "brain" back on there after a hiatus.
S Works reflective decals.
Rear lower main pivot appears a bit higher?
Front forks look long, but with brain sticker, and looks like limited (100mm?) travel. Lots of dust below crown, and above solid clean line at o ring.
Tires look like a Renegade, but more knobs, and definitely appear fatter than the rather narrow running 2.35 largest size available now.
No downtube storage.(maybe same front triangle as 2022?)

It's so crazy that bike isnt more popular than it is... Is it price?
IMO after selling my altitude and riding ALOT of different bikes - im 100% satisfied the altitude is the best riding bike currently available, especially as a "one bike quiver"
Can smash bike park laps, Can be ridden as a trail bike despite the long travel - the suspension works so good.

I was looking at it for my next bike but the standover is really high (798mm for a med, vs ~700 for other bikes in it's class).

I haven't ridden one yet but on paper that's a deal-breaker for me and my short legs.

I have short legs!

My mom always complained about the high standover height of our bikes but I finally got her on the xs Instinct and she is loving it!

I rode a Large at 6 ft and to be fair, Its pretty rare you stand over the top tube.(i dont "stand over" at all if im honest)

I tend to Sit on my saddle as bikes like the rocky can take a huuge dropper, i was running the 240 oneup no worries.

100% the price is what stops me from considering buying one. For a given price they are close to the worst of them when it comes to the spec’d parts. Otherwise they would be on my shortlist of bikes to consider. They look so good.

2022 models come with Brain or am I missing something? I don't see anything new on that bike at all...

The new Fluid seems seriously progressive, maybe even more than a YT Jeffsy. (This approximation gives about 36% progression, or about 25% progression relative to the 30% sag point)

Good, you got 130mm of party in the back with mad dog Geo, I'd hope it had some ramp up because you will be going H.A.M on something like that! It also plays in with the "poppy & playful" nature that companies want to give their bikes now days. Just learn to bunnyhop bro.

Thank you. We have no Specialized dealer, so I guess we have never seen one. My friends getting brand new Specialized Epics all have gotten the "older brain' or the One with no Brain (Scarecrow Edition)

oh for sure, Rocky need to lower the price of their lower end specced alloy bikes... in NZ for e.g the a30 is over $6000nzd.... thats getting close to how badely we get screwed for transition, alloy NX sentinel is over 8k

Now, compare that to Trek slash, 9.8 spec, Carbon frame and wheels, xt etc... $7800....
spectral cf8, 7000.... full carbon high specced...

There's also many other brands with their base deore/nx range with bikes in the 4k range... id argue some are better specced and better quality.

In european prices, all Rocky bikes are terrible value and they hardly have any dealerships anywhere - which is a shame because I really like the RM Slayer.

Don't know what you're talking about. That looks exactly like the current-gen Epic. Nothing new about it.

Yep, the regular Epic still has the Brain while the Epic Evo goes without it

Looks to be a new Level brake in development. Larger lever that looks like a cross between the DB8 and the current level. Swing link lever like the G2 series, no contact adjust. Saw them on the front of a Scott rider’s bike today mounted to a G2 ultimate 4 piston caliper. Maybe a “downcountry” specific brake?

I'm curious to see how a flex-stay design holds up on a more long-travel bike

They measure their stand over differently than others, I think it’s 20mm forward from the bb.

I thought there was a bridge connecting the seatstays and chainstays and they were using the same VPP setup as with their old 27.5 Enduro bikes.
