We can clearly see the weld seam. And the position of the rear shock is like a TR11, but those are in carbon usually.

Take a look at my previous spot, the way the shock is mounted on the frame look the same way as a TR11

Good point.

The Sentinel was carbon only in the beginning and got an aluminium model for this year.

Even, the TR11 platform is now about 4 years old if I say no nonsense Smile
TR12 was already a bit "unveiled" at the end of the TR11 video from Transition

This video clearly and scientifically explains it can only go to 11 !!!

I'm curious to know why the huge hole in the downtube, as the shock mount doesn't seem to require it, but maybe they are running the shock upside down so the hole provides space for the piggyback to clear the downtube and allow for adjustments?

It would make sense to have a new AL downhill bike from transition. They are over the WC circuit. Why not just make a new DH bike that’s a little more free-ridey and cheaper for the consumer.

Will be interesting to see if it’s an aluminum tr11 or if there are 29er options coming down the pipeline. I wouldn’t be shocked if they released two dh bikes like the spire/patrol with one meant for fun and the other meant for speed.

Could that aluminum bike just be a test mule? Don't most companies make test bikes or just go all on on carbon molds and hope they work as good in real life as on paper?

Those changes would be a huge press release from Rock Shox along with all sorts of new buzzwords.

I wonder if it's not the whole point for DVO. After the Giant deal maybe they realized it was just not "their thing" to grow that much and prefer to remain smaller ? (though smaller shouldn't mean unvisible)

What about that Evil ebike for instance ? It seems to be finished no ? Could it be the same thing ?
I received my Onyx (with the running changes) back in May. I honestly couldn't tell you why they haven't made a bigger deal out of the changes, but availability issues may have something to do with it. I know that the shipment that mine was a part of was sold out shortly after arriving, and that the following shipment sold out very quickly as well.

IMO the shape/form and finish on those tubes is way too good for a test mule that would get converted to carbon. especially when you consider that bigger companies like trek and spesh have moved back to aluminum from carbon for their DH bikes

Maybe we are now seeing that there's not enough sales of DH bikes to justify the cost of making molds for a carbon frame? Especially for a minimal gain in performance...

The bigger issue is the graphics on the tubes. Doesn't really scream mule.

Regarding the shapes, they could be reusing a standard tubeset if it was a mule. Bird for example used a basically the same tubeset for all full suspension bikes and all sizes. And back in the days Jeff also picked the tubes off the racks at Intense when making prototypes.

Canfield has a rounder top tube and a brace strut in the shape of a skull which appears absent on this bike.
Welds are slightly different too.

In the video you can see a transition logo and more proof of no skull on the side.

Speaking of Canfield (kind of), does anyone know anything about the bike Revel is teasing on their Instagram?

Its gotta be a completely new long travel 29er or a revised rail that’s at least mullet. I love my rail but it’s definitely a brain child of 2017 geo trends and I think very few people who are looking into a new enduro bike are looking at a 27.5” bike with a 75 degree seat tube. Glad to see they’ve invested in a new carbon mold though. I was getting nervous about them losing relevance
