here's clappin' yo dome 2002 slam montage #2
in other news, first footage i've seen of brage and he took a slam on a big drop. seems to be ok?
Not 100% sure I got the embed code right, but... here's Tippie's video of Brage's crash. Brage has his shoulder in a sling when he's walking away. Doesn't look good. The crater he left in the landing is ridiculous.
When I was advocating for some kind of baseline testing (on the Inside Line), this is why I was advocating for it. You can have a mild concussion which is nearly impossible to diagnose without some kind of baseline to refer back to. This unfortunately sets you up to have a much worse concussion if you clap the dome again.
I'm not saying every crash is a concussion, but I'd sure treat it like that when your head hits the ground as hard as these guys, again, in the absence of baseline testing.
Sorry for the rant, just kills me to see how little we are really doing around this.
Side note - looks like the dirt is a bit slower than past years (more moisture?)
Btw, bumerang with all the guys getting huet. Brages drop must be up there with the biggest at rampage(?). Since i am form Norway, i might be a little biased. But man, that was so big! Both him and Carson went out by going like 15cm to short.
Who was the guy who'd just poach lines? Had a double last name? That was a rad strategy too. Save on build crew, show up on practice day, and just shralp lines. Related: I think there should be some compulsory lines, or maybe you should be forced to do a third run on someone else's line too...current format lacks something for me.
Sal Masekela just said that a dude's family couldn't be there because they're back with the dog, who's "in the midst of transitioning." I'm pretty sure he's talking about the dog dying, but that's been my highlight so far.
Riding was insane. What Zink said about not having control down that chute? Wft.
Also, Riddle's moto style, amazing. I want more of that. All of those big moves over shadowed the rest of the crowd for me. Not to take away from skills I don't have, but Even Semenuck's moves were just bigger version of the same tricks he always does on bigger terrain. Riddle's looked so fresh and the hangtime/amplitude of his moves just seemed on another level to me. 1st in my mind for sure but I guess they needed to give Brandon one more before he starts to focus on Rally entirely.
Also, Tom. As mentioned above his slam has me very concerned. It looked like he took a head first hit and I didn't see him moving much after he went down other than his arms. I'm really hoping he's ok, this year was scary AF.
