Who thought it was a good idea for the straight ramp step up take off to rounded landing? Not knowing the speed of entry I can’t truly judge, but it very much seems like a speed restricted feature. You’ll have to slow down, bunny hop to make a smooth transition on the landing, and then not pedal so as to land the step down in the sweet spot getting full speed for the following straight.
As Jason said, whoops would be cool, I like whoops and have not seen a proper set of them on a DH track outside of US National Champs 2009 at Sol Vista (Cairns has rollers/a rhythm section not whoops).

Yeah, kinda looks like it is meant to be a big gap with a whale tail b line to me.
I'm not a fan of timber features on DH courses so I would rather they just built it as a double/triple option out of dirt. I won't be riding it though, so my opinion counts for squat!
It'll be interesting to see how it ends up and how the riders go with it.

This is dumb. They are moving at this point in the track. Everyone will go around it. Remember the opening jump at the last one? They made such a big deal out of an opening feature for the track and then everyone skipped it. Same will happen here. This is not slope style. No one wants to end their season with an injury. Remember how many people over shot the small rock gap last time? This will be worse.

They went around the first jump because one of the governing bodies (UCI??) changed the tape to allow the squeeze on the inside of the jump...

Also, there was a left right combo coming out of the woods to the wooden feature that could be used to control speed.

This is Idiocy.

Other than gaps, holes, streams, what the bloody ever, there should be No wood features on a WC Downhill Track.

The sport is already sketchy enough / exciting enough / spectacular enough / demanding enough without this Idiotic sort of thing. It should be Natural Terrain, or at least a 'construction' of Natural terrain features. This sort of thing (and, for that matter 'built' whoops - boys and girls , this is Not an event in a stadium) is like the SXification of Motocross.

If this atrocity is kept on the course, if anyone gets axed on it, those who approved it / thought of it, should face severe consequences.

This, to me, looks like a feature constructed not just for the race track but its a way to allow spectators to cross under the track before the finish corral. Remember this is where the shipping container drop was in 2019 and served the same purpose.

Oh, it's definitely supposed to be for spectator access. Maybe this was cheaper than a shipping container, given covid demand? The funny thing is a shipping container drop wouldn't have created so much electronic venom! Hopefully the crew is also putting time into clearing drains in the lower woods? I think Mr. Leader was the last person to do that....

Keeping the water flowing seems like it should probably be a priority at least commensurate with stuntz...

Even for the elite men that would be a hug gap, I'm very curious to see how this goes. Hopefully Neko/Dak release a demo vid in the next few weeks.
